Description

PROCHARGED LS1, 6 SPEED, WELD WHEELS, A/C, PS/PB 4 WHEEL DISC, HIGH END STEREO!

Some cars just lend themselves to customization, and the wicked stance and show-stopping, custom paint scheme on this 1966 Chevrolet Chevelle SS Tribute LS1 Pro Street looks so right, you wonder why the factory didn't offer them this way from the start. With a supercharged LS1 engine, a quick-shifting 6-speed gearbox, custom tubbed suspension, and a killer bucket seat interior, this gorgeous A-Body is armed unlike any other muscle car in our inventory. Beautifully finished in the finest custom traditions coupled with a big heaping of modern flair, it's a show-stopper that's so well built you can drive it every day.

If you like the look, you're sure to be impressed by the quality of this dialed-in restomod/pro-street. The foundation is a laser-straight hardtop body, and with work done to a high level, you can see details like the subtle body crease that rides from bumper-to-bumper to give the fenders and quarters such a muscular look, and the wheel-to-wheel indentation above the rockers is straight enough to set your watch to. Even with that expert bodywork, the paint is the star of the show – a custom Blue Metallic finish that's punched up with painted-on, bespoke SS-stripes that were turned up to '11' thanks to airbrushed ghost flames that were embedded inside and covered in layer after layer of clearcoat. Completed in 2017, it's a show-quality paint job if you were to ask the opinion of 99% of the public, but because it does have a few very minor imperfections and signs of use acquired in the six years since it was finished, we'll call it top driver-quality just to be safe. But trust is, it's amazing, you'll be impressed in person even if you're used to seeing high-end custom paint jobs. A big cowl hood with drag-racer style hood pins and a deep chin spoiler were added up front, and when coupled with the tubbed rear end and huge exhaust pipes that tuck underneath the back bumper, this Chevelle looks like it could take a swing at you if you gave it the wrong look. All the brightwork, bumpers, bright front grille, and gorgeous rear trim were replaced with factory-correct pieces that looks amazing up against the vibrant custom finish, as if the curb appeal needed any more BLING. All the right SS-spec badges are still in place too, and the glass was tinted limousine-black and only adds to the mystery of this beautiful monster. It all works together extremely well, with off-the-charts curb appeal that's practically second-to-none. Now those are certainly bold words, but if you can find a cooler '66 Chevelle, please let us know, because up to this point we haven't seen one out there.

The interior keeps things a bit more reserved, although don't for a minute think it's not as high-end and dialed-in as the exterior. A sporty pair of aftermarket bucket seats wrapped in black vinyl lead the way, joined by a matching bench seat in the rear, and a set of handsome black door panels at the flanks. A custom console splits the front seats, and it too was wrapped in gorgeous black upholstery and houses a set of cup holders and a Hurst 6-speed shifter. The reworked dash is a thing of beauty with a thick pad up top and lots of shiny bright accents, and the builders did a great job replacing the rather bland original bezel with a custom unit filled with a full set of Dakota Digital gauges enlisted to keep an accurate eye on the new powerplant. Options include retro-style AM/FM/AUX head unit that power a custom stereo, a Vintage Air A/C system, Simpson Racing seatbelts up front, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel mounted atop a tilt column. Plush black carpets line the floors and there's a taut black headliner above, while out back the trunk is now filled with the oversized wheel tubs, a fuel cell, relocated battery, and a big subwoofer, so the rear seat will have to do for storage.

To back up those killer looks there better be some serious hardware under the hood, and there's not much better than the shiny Supercharged LS1 V8 nestled in the custom engine bay. Borrowed from a 2002 Camaro, the modern, fuel-injected block drops right into this Chevelle's engine bay, but before that happened, everything was painted, polished, and prepped for show to match the exterior. Check out the slick-black inner fenders and custom firewall, and the careful way all the lines and plumbing have been routed around the engine. Turning back to the monster that lies within: a noticeable cam provides a lope in the motor that can shake up the pavement, and as if it needed any more oomph, you also get aluminum heads, a cold-air intake, serpentine belt system, and of course that giant F-1A supercharger that features a blow-off valve and a custom fabricated intercooler that was horizontally mounted underneath the big Champion aluminum radiator. Long-tube headers are linked to a stainless-steel, H-pipe dual exhaust system with Gibson mufflers that sounds EPIC, so get ready to anger the neighbors. A Tremec 6-speed gearbox takes full advantage of this magnificent brute with the help of a more-than-capable clutch that flies through the gears and handles all the power with ease. Straight-line speed wasn't the only consideration in this build, as the front clip was augmented with modern power steering, tubular A-arms, coilovers, and a big sway bar, while the rear features coilovers, ladder bars, and a narrowed Ford 9-inch rear end filled with Moser 38-spline axles and 4.11 gears. Power 4-wheel disc brakes are a welcomed upgrade that help stop the whole show on command, and the staggered Weld wheels come wrapped in 205/65/15 front radials and 31x18x15 Mickey Thompson meats that grip the pavement and finish the look perfectly.

Beautifully built and fully sorted, this gorgeous monster is ready to dominate for years to come. Call today!
