ZZ4 CRATE MOTOR, TH350 TRANS, ORIGINAL COLOR COMBO, T-TOPS, POWER STEER/BRAKES

This is how a 1981 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 was always supposed to be. That's because the bold looks are now backed up by a ZZ4 performance V8. And this is a one-family car that has been treated with the right care and investments to be a great T-top cruiser.

We have been told that this coupe has spent the last four decades under the care of only one family. We're not talking about a hand-me-down that got lost in garages. Instead, you can tell they took time and care to treat this as an heirloom. That's why the factory-correct gold paint was treated to a quality respray later in life. Good-looking paint is not only essential to showing off the straight body panels, but also it represents a comprehensive style on these final-year third-gen Camaros. The turbine-style wheels have a coordinating golden glow, and when that combines with the color-matched full body kit, Chevy delivered a coupe that looked like a custom car. And since gold goes so well with black, it's an ideal backdrop for the darkness from the Z/28 package. This includes the headlight buckets, cowl hood accents, and iconic triple stripe package. Even the glass T-tops are deeply tinted to go with this dark style.

Description

The full black interior is also part of this thoughtfully done total package. So you'll happily take the T-tops out and show off the well-done color coordination with the world. You even have the correct storage bags for the glass - another one of those little details that comes one a well-respected classic. There is a quality style with newer seat covers, dash pad, carpeting, and door panels. It has nice features, like power windows, power locks, and an armrest center console. The air conditioning controls and Delco AM/FM/cassette stereo remain on display in case you want to update or repair them in the future. And this is a nice driver with the classic corded NK4 sports steering wheel on a tilt column.

These Z-cars originally had a 350 cubic-inch V8. Those had good power for their era, but we also were able to do more with time and progress. So this one keeps the same displacement but upgrades it to a ZZ4 performance crate motor. It also features an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, an Edelbrock intake, headers feeding into the dual exhaust. Plus, good hoses and other fundamentals show more of the good care and you get in a car like this. It's a strong runner, and it's also a good driver thanks to features like a three-speed automatic transmission, power steering, power brakes w/front disc brakes, and wide Cooper Cobra tires.

The sale comes complete with the dealer invoice, shipping checklist, owner manual, and maintenance receipts. It all adds to the impression of a well-respected classic that also loves to drive. So it's the V8 T-top coupe you need to get your hands on right now. Call today!!!
