The 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air Nomad is the one everyone wants. It takes the most iconic year of the Tri-Fives and gives you some of the best rarity and design lines of the era. So it's awesome to find an example that has been given all the right investments to make it feel like it turns back the clock. And because this wants to be a proper V8 cruiser, you'll even find well-integrated essential upgrades, like air conditioning.
The trim tag tells us this was born a Matador Red car, and quite frankly, we'd find it hard to celebrate such a red-blooded American classic in any other color. It's part of a more modern application that retains a good gloss in the sunshine. So the overall impression is very vintage with the right thoughtful upgrades, and that sets the tone for the whole car. Another example of this attitude is the set of classic whitewalls and wheel covers. You're so busy admiring its vintage style that you won't bother to notice these are actually more modern touring tires with a deep tread. There's a quality look to the fit of the panels and all the clean glass, including Nomad's special wraparound rear pieces. We especially like the presentation of the hallmark brightwork ... Description
We especially like the presentation of the hallmark brightwork package. There are the best pieces like golden Chevrolet emblems on this VC-code car, the full-length sweeping side trim with the exclusive fan-style rear, and the Nomad's bright vertical slats over the hatch. And the big front end with the bumper and grille combo has the beautiful shine you want to go with the car's full bright attitude. It's the kind of car that will turn heads from blocks away.
Inside, you'll find one of the most striking factory color combinations around. The red of the exterior is utilized again inside, and now it's joined by textured black inserts on the seats and door panels. And the full presentation is quite attractive and detailed, right down to the working clock and dome lights that greet you when the door opens. There are crisp, clean gauges behind the highly stylized Bel Air steering wheel. The rest of the chrome on the dash looks great. So you'll really want to get in and drive. That's also why this has upgraded cruiser details like cold-blowing air conditioning and a retro-style AM/FM digital tuner with aux input for better driving music.
The Tri-Five Chevrolets launched the small block era, and so it's great to see such a classic-looking V8. This 283 cubic-inch motor is the correct displacement, and it looks correct right down to the generator and air grabber. It's even a correct suffix code block that hints at originality. But you also know this was built to be a better cruiser, and so you'll notice the right updates like an added electric fan, a newer A/C compressor, and an Optima battery. It's the kind of quality investment that makes it easy to confidently hit the road. The same goes for the Powerglide automatic transmission, power steering, and power brakes.
Your overall impression will be an icon of the open road that was restored to make sure you can still enjoy the drive at any time. That makes for a top-tier kind of driver's Nomad. Call today!!!
