This 1965 Chevrolet Corvette is possibly the quintessential representation of how most enthusiasts would want their C2 Corvette. It sports a glossy black paint job with a stinger hood, side pipes, and bright rally wheels. Few things could make this car any better.
Black with a red painted stinger is pretty tough to beat on the mid year Corvettes. Originally Glen Green, it was completely disassembled and rebuilt from the fiberglass up to be a black car, which means a lot of extra attention lavished on the bodywork to make it straight. The headlight doors fit flush, the doors close snugly, and the iconic stinger hood fits right.
The crease that surrounds the entire body is crisply rendered, not rounded-off by excessive sanding, and you'll note that panel alignment is good. All the badges, chrome, stainless trim, and other details were fully sorted, and if they are complemented well with the 15'' rally wheels.
The interior is just as nice as the exterior, and black vinyl will never go out of style. Slip inside and glance around, you'll quickly see that this was truly a recent restoration. All the gauges are present and accounted for and help keep tabs on the small block under the hood. An AM/FM radio resides in the waterfall dash, and the wood-trimmed, 3-spoke steering wheel is always a welcome feature in a Sting Ray's cabin. The carpet, door panels, and dash all show very well, and the chrome, manual shifter is certainly a pleasant highlight of what this car has to offer.
Under the stinger a 350 cubic inch V8 has been installed, and it's hard to go wrong with the storied small block. Tilt the hood forward and it simply looks great, with a chrome finned air cleaner, polished water pump, and custom valve covers. It runs just as good as it looks with the addition of an Edelbrock Victor Jr. intake, Holley carburetor, MSD ignition, aluminum fan, and stainless fuel lines. This SBC exhales through aftermarket headers and sweet side pipes for a great sound. Disc brakes up front keep things manageable, while 215/70/15 Silvertown redline tires put the small block's power to the road.
If you've been thinking about adding a C2 Corvette to your collection, now is your chance. They're arguably the most popular classic car in the hobby and prices are consistently on the rise for sorted, good-driving machines like this one. Call today!
