If there's a nicer Fairlane on the planet, we haven't seen it.
This car's history is very cool. The owner has known the car since it was new, as it was owned by one of his school teachers. Years later, he was lucky enough to track down that teacher's nephew and acquire the car and immediately commenced on a no-holds-barred restoration to create the world's finest 1956 Fairlane. One glance at the door tag will verify that this Ford has been expertly refinished in its original Colonial White over Spring Mist Green, a pure 1950s combination that will make women swoon and shows off the incredible bodywork on this Fairlane to great effect. Description
The very best collector cars are those that combine history, condition, and desirability, all in one package. This 1956 Ford Fairlane neatly captures all of the above, and with a recent "Best Restoration" trophy from Good Guys, you know it's the real deal.
Cars simply don't get nicer than this, and every detail was fastidiously adjusted until it fit better than the factory could have even imagined. Dig the panel gaps, the wave-free sheetmetal, and the panel alignment that shows flush seams. Note the alignment of the brilliant sweeping trim that is the Fairlane's calling card, and the depth of the finish on the paint. Cars like this don't happen by accident, it takes someone with both a lot of time and a lot of money to make them this nice. The chrome is show-quality throughout, the badges are brightly restored, and the lenses are all crystal clear, a bright punctuation on an incredible presentation.
Funky '50s fabrics don't get much cooler than the green upholstery in this Fairlane. Like the rest of the car, the interior is over-the-top remarkable, with exacting finish quality that shows off the cost-no-object restoration. The door panels look like they're in motion with the sweeping design, all highlighted with beautifully restored bright trim, and new carpets on the floor replicate the original stuff perfectly. This Fairlane is a no-frills machine, offering three-on-the-tree shifting, a heater and defroster, and precious little else. But when you look this good, what else could you need? The headliner fits snugly to the curving roof, the gauges offer clear lenses and bright markings, and the two-tone dash neatly ties it all together. Even the trunk is finished for show with a full-sized spare and correct plaid mat.
Under the hood you will find the original M-code 292 y-block V8, which it shows off on beautiful and colorful valve covers. An original air cleaner looks heavy-duty enough to filter the air on the space station, and Ford Red paint makes the Y-block pop in the engine bay. It starts easily and has a great bark through a pair of glasspack-style mufflers. With a known history, there are no secrets underneath, with a clean chassis, new shocks, and a fresh gas tank, as well as the factory-issue rear end. The original wheels wear wire wheelcovers and new 205/75/15 wide whitewall radials.
With a great story to tell, only three owners from new, and that astounding restoration, this is as good as '50s Fords can get. Expensive? Only if second-best is acceptable to you. Call today!
