The 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air convertible is already an icon, but this restomod is absolutely unforgettable. It's a fully coordinated presentation that also has a leather-lined A/C interior, overdrive transmission, four-wheel disc brakes, custom frame, sports suspension, and a Corvette's fuel-injected V8. It makes for an awesome all-around cruiser that only has about 750 miles on the full package.
The exterior is that perfect blend of vintage and upgraded. After all, there is arguably no better-recognized shape than the Tri-Five Chevys, but you can also instantly tell this one is extra special. The white has the good gloss and pristine glow of a quality presentation with very few miles on it. Of course, this one keeps all the right classic pieces, like the wraparound chrome bumper, clean grille, full badging, and jet-inspired hood ornament. But this car also likes to show off its upgraded nature. It's in subtle ways, like the clear headlights and bright dual exhaust tips. And those classic Cragar SS wheels are in a larger 17-inch size to fit better modern tires. But the coolest addition has to be the touch of red in the classic side trim.
It lets this vintage piece coordinate with the bold look of the upgraded red folding top.
Because this one looks so good with the red roof in place, you'll be happy to power it down and show off the full red interior. Just like the exterior, this package integrates the best upgrades while still appearing quite vintage. For example, you have two rows of classic-style bench seats. But they have a custom pattern that looks and feels more luxurious. And they are now done in supple leather. The dash, carpeting, and convertible boot all follow this red theme for a very sporty feeling inside. Plus, cold-blowing air conditioning also keeps you feeling cool even with the top down. The steering wheel has a classic look, but it's a smaller diameter sports unit. It's mounted on a tilt column that gives you a clear view to the gauge cluster. And while you get the classic fan-style dash, the upgraded Classic Instruments cluster now gives you a full view of what's going on in the engine bay.
Lift the hood, and you'll see another Chevy icon powering this legendary convertible. The fuel-injected LS1 V8 was utilized in later Camaros and Corvettes. So it just feels great to connect this Bel Air with that kind of sports car lineage. It has a tidy look of a proper installation, and you even have the modern conveniences of a serpentine belt system and an aluminum radiator. The motor is mated to a correct 4L60E four-speed transmission, and so the full package was built to give you both speedy performance and easy overdrive cruising. And as you look underneath the car, you can really see it was built to be driven. This car sits on a strong Art Morrison TRI-5 GT Sport Chassis. It has a tubular A-arm independent front end, triangulated four-link rear, and coilovers all-around. Add in rack & pinion power steering, grippy ZR-rated tires, and Wilwood four-wheel power disc brakes, and you can see how this Bel Air was made to be a terrific driver.
The sale comes complete with build receipts and service manuals. This is the iconic drop-top upgraded for both show and go. It's the build that leaves you wanting for nothing. So the only way you'll be disappointed is if you miss out on this custom '55 Chevy. Call today!!!
