UNDER 7K ORIG MILES, 700+ HP V10, 6 SPD MAN, $35k FROM LINGENFELTER AND MORE!!
Without a doubt, the Dodge Viper is one of the greatest American sports cars of all time, and it has been included in the top 50 greatest sports cars of all time. It's got killer good looks that are menacing enough to make a grown man weak in the knees, and power for days! When you have a look at this 1997 Dodge Viper GTS it's hard not to appreciate the sleek design that will be a timeless look for years to come. Not to mention the work done by Lingenfelter and Hennesy to make this "basically a street legal race car" built for a former ARCA and NASCAR Busch Series driver.
Dodge wasn't initially sure how the public would accept the Dodge Viper, but the reaction was so approving at the 1989 North American International Auto Show that a production model was given the green light and the rest is history. The design was immensely exotic for an American car and rivaled the styling of higher priced European supercars. This GTS coupe is a great example of the exotic styling and menacing looks, dressed in a brilliant blue hue with white stripes. With a clean AutoCheck report and less than 7K miles, you can be confident in a showroom fresh finish. A 'double bubble' roof provides clearance for the use of helmets, and slopes back to an aerodynamic rear window, leading to a functioning spoiler that helps keep the massive tires planted to the ground. Functioning scoops and vents allow for efficient air intake to the motor and cooling of the engine bay. And those wide tires wrap beautiful aftermarket staggered wheels that complete an overall sporty look.
Hunch down into the cockpit and you feel as if you've become a part of the machine. The seating position is low for optimal center of gravity and all dials, controls, and gauges are within easy sight or reach. This cabin is roomy enough for taller drivers, but even the foot pedals are adjustable should you need help reaching them. Luxuries include leather bucket seats, power windows, power door locks, cruise control, tilt wheel, air conditioning, and an Alpine AM/FM/CD player. Should you decide to take this highway king on an overnight trip, there is enough cargo room out back to fit a couple of day bags for you and a favorite passenger. Everything appears to be in good condition and it's obvious this car has been garage kept. There are no cracks or fading, it's an interior that has aged very well to be 17 years old.
Tilt the big hood forward and you're greeted by a bright red intake manifold that tops the best part about this beast...an 8.0L V10 that was rated at 450 horsepower from the factory! That translates to instantaneous throttle response that is pure wicked and absolutely scary for the timid driver as this car will accelerate to 60 mph in nearly 4 seconds flat! Anyone that has had the privilege to drive one will tell you that these cars are raw and ferocious, but an absolute blast to drive! With a built motor sporting internal engine upgrades totaling $35,000 from Lingenfelter, with things like a valve job, ported and polished intake manifold, and upgraded rotating assembly, that large motor is now capable of over 700 horsepower! Mated to that gnarly motor is a 6-speed manual transmission that sends power to a stout rear end, and exhaust gasses travel through after market headers and a Hennessey performance exhaust system that creates a demanding noise. Capable of .98 g of lateral grip, the chassis has been thoroughly engineered to handle track time, with power steering and power brakes being the only driving aids. With a car like this, you need sticky tires to keep the fun in check, and this Viper is equipped with Michelin Pilot Sports that measure 275/35/18 up front and 345/35/18 out back while massive Brembo caliper clamping down on cross drilled rotors bring things to a halt.
If you've been wanting a Viper that has upgraded performance, here is your chance! For the price we're asking, you'll have that in a comparable engine build. Also included is the factory wheels and tires, factory front brake calipers, (2)Mopar Performance ECUs, two sets of floor mats, OEM exhaust manifolds, and some factory engine components that have been upgraded. We could go on about how amazing this car is, but you won't know until you get a chance to experience it yourself! Call today.
