468 CID, TH400 TRANSMISSION, 12 BOLT REAR WITH 3.73 GEARS, VERY FAST VERY NICE!!

This 1973 Chevrolet Camaro is a street-legal predator that absolutely humiliates cars costing tens of thousands more. It looks great and with a thumping 468 cubic inch big block under the hood, it has the power to make the most of those oversized tires and wicked stance.

Bright Marina Blue with white stripes is the way to go if you want attention, and this car is nothing if not in-your-face brash. Forget subtle and classic, that towering cowl induction hood, those giant tires, and the overall attitude give you the impression that this car is always spoiling for a fight. A cool RS grille with bumperettes is a favorite look, and even though the intent was to create a brawler, they took their time on the bodywork to make it pretty, too. Good sheetmetal, straight panel alignment, and a great gloss on the paint make this look like more than just a car built to go fast, but rather a fully finished piece that's at home running down the 1320 or parked at your local cruise night. Aside from the hood, the rest of the sheetmetal is stock, and with expertly-painted SS stripes running down the center, it has the perfect Chevy high-performance look. Nice chrome bumpers and a refreshing lack of badges ... Please ask for the full description.

Description

Nice chrome bumpers and a refreshing lack of badges make this car look highly polished in every way.

The street-friendly interior keeps the Camaro flavor with high-back bucket seats, now wrapped in two-tone gray and black fabric, while adding some race-grade components to great effect. The four-point roll bar remarkably keeps the back seat fully intact, although it does carry shoulder harnesses for the front seat passengers. Newer black carpets, what might be the original door panels, and a factory steering wheel only make the line between street and strip more blurry in this car's case. A column-mounted tach with shift light and auxiliary gauges under the dash are proper equipment for a car built for combat, and the trick B&M shifter for the TH400 3-speed automatic certainly looks the part. You can forget a radio or heater, since you're not going to need either one in this car, and the trunk has been filled with roll bars and a fuel cell.

OK, OK, here's the lowdown on the powerplant. It's a 468 cubic inch big block topped by a 4-barrel carburetor and a medium-rise intake that makes insane torque. The big engine flings the relatively lightweight F-body down the road like the catapults on the USS Nimitz, and the race-grade hardware includes a big radiator, aluminum shroud and custom fuel system. Long-tube headers feed a 3-inch Flowmaster dual exhaust system that sounds like Valhalla on a Saturday night. The built TH400 transmission has a manual valve body so you can bang out the gears and the 12-bolt rear is full of 3.73 gears that really get with the program when you stomp the loud pedal. It's not exotic or over-engineered, just solid, tested components that make up a car that doesn't pull any punches. They did a nice job getting those giant rear meats to fit right, and wrapped the 165R15 front and 28x12.50-15 rear tires around shiny Weld Pro-Star wheels.

You couldn't build a car this fast for the asking price if we gave you the Camaro for free. Instead, take this sharp-looking hot rod home and enjoy the fruits of someone else's labor. Call today!
