FRESH HUGGER ORANGE POLISHED PAINT, NEW INTERIOR, 350CID, AUTO, TORQUE THRUSTS!!
You like attention? This 1973 Camaro Z/28 delivers. Not-so-subtle Hugger Orange paint, oversized wheels, and a great-running small block V8 make for a car that you'll enjoy driving as much as everyone else enjoys looking at it.
We're seeing substantial interest in second-generation Camaros, and when they look as good as this one does, well, we don't really expect them to last very long. The paint was done in January 2014, so it is extremely fresh, with a deep, brilliant shine and virtually zero signs of use. The deep shine comes from base/clear urethane and it wraps around the super straight bodywork so well that this car probably would get speeding tickets while sitting in traffic. A cowl-induction hood was added, and the second-generation cars seem to wear them especially well. White SS stripes use the correct factory pattern, cowl hood notwithstanding, and with both a chin spoiler and a ducktail out back, it has a definitely high-performance look. Custom details include the RS grille and bumperettes up front, which isn't how this car came but is always a welcome upgrade. Z/28 badges have been added and are the lone insignias on the car, but does a Z/28 like this really need any introductions?
Second-generation Camaro interiors really don't need upgrades, what with their stylish and comfortable high-back buckets and wrap-around instrument panel. For the most part, everything inside this car is new, including the seat covers, carpets, and door panels, and even the dash pad is in excellent condition. Factory gauges use clear, easy-to-read faces inside a satin silver panel, giving it a somewhat custom look, and the fat 3-spoke steering wheel has the right look for a Camaro of this vintage. The ancient factory radio was jettisoned and replaced with a modern AM/FM/CD player, which powers speakers throughout the interior, including a pair on the rear quarter panels. The trunk is also nicely outfitted with matching black carpets and a full-sized spare with jack assembly.
The 350 cubic inch V8 has an awesome factory look, but no factory engine was ever this sharply rendered. Finned valve covers were a Z/28 trademark from the beginning, and under the shiny chrome air cleaner there's a Holley 4-barrel carburetor and Edelbrock Performer intake manifold. It starts easily and has a great idle that sounds menacing without being obnoxious and on the highway, the twin Flowmasters burble happily. Long-tube headers bolster the torque curve and the snappy TH350 3-speed automatic transmission always seems to be in the right gear for maximum acceleration. The undercarriage isn't restored, but it is quite clean and doesn't look like it lived in a snowy climate. A 10-bolt rear end hangs on stock leaf springs but the front end has been lowered just enough to give the car a bit of rake, just so you know it's serious about going fast. Handsome 18-inch Torque Thrust wheels update the classic look and carry 235/45/18 front and 255/40/18 rear performance radials.
A fresh build with just the right custom touches to make it stand out, this is the kind of Camaro that you've dreamed of owning for years. It's time to make your move, because they aren't going to be any more affordable than this in the future. Call now!
