GORGEOUS CRANBERRY FINISH, MODERN CADILLAC INTERIOR, COIL OVERS, 350 V8, COLD AC

Modifying any car can be a gamble, but when you start with a clean non-post 1955 Chevy Bel Air hardtop and make it subtle, sophisticated, and high-quality, well, finding a new home shouldn't be a problem. This handsome car has a few traditional body mods, gorgeous paint, and a luxurious interior, all powered by our favorite small block Chevy V8. Sure, you could build your own, but this one's ready to go today for a fraction of the build!

The bright cranberry red paint doesn't even pretend to be from the '50s, and appears to have been borrowed from a late-model color chart, because the glowing metallic makes it look spectacular. Obviously the car was extensively reworked and custom mods include the shaved door handles and hood, which don't change the '55's classic look but rather just makes it sleeker. Fit and finish are extremely good, with doors that open easily with the touch of a button and a deep gloss to the paint that shows clear reflections in its surface. The car has been driven fairly extensively, but shows very few signs of use to match its well-sorted powertrain, a testament to the quality of the work. A billet grille gives the nose a different look, with pinstriped details on ... Please ask for the full description.

A billet grille gives the nose a different look, with pinstriped details on the hood and trunk for a traditional look. And 1-piece California-style bumpers wear bright chrome that really sets off the beautiful red paint.

The interior was liberated from a '90s Cadillac sedan, and with it comes a set of power front buckets wrapped in leather and a matching rear bench. The rest of the interior was custom designed and built to match those OEM pieces and they've done a good job of integrating it into the 1955 body. A custom billet steering wheel was wrapped in matching tan leather and the door panel is a neat tribute to the original with a few custom touches to make it unique. The painted dash is original, complete down to the bright trim along its face, but the instruments are modern VDO dials stuffed into the original pod and you'll note that even the clock was upgraded along the way. A/C was fitted using an under-dash setup that stays largely out of sight and the entertainment system is a Sony CDX with a trunk-mounted CD changer. The trunk shows off the results of the comprehensive restoration, and includes niceties such as a reproduction rubber mat and a remotely-mounted battery to free up some room under the hood.

It's a Chevy, so it should be no surprise to find a 350 cubic inch Chevy V8 up front making horsepower. There's nothing earth-shattering here, just reliable components that have survived the test of time and make this a reliable, fun cruiser that you can drive anywhere. It's a vintage 1972 block that was given a mild cam, 4-barrel carburetor, and a set of block-hugging headers, then fortified with a bit of chrome and polished aluminum to make it look good. The chassis carries a modern coil-over front suspension, a custom dual exhaust system with Flowmaster mufflers, and an automatic transmission feeding a 10-bolt rear end. Power front discs make it easy to drive in today's traffic, and the suspension was tuned for comfort so it won't beat you up on long road trips. Traditional Torque Thrust wheels will never go out of style on this car and carry 215/65/15 front and 225/70/15 rear tires to give it just a bit of a rake.

There's definitely something to be said for a high-quality build that's mellowed a bit, because you know all the issues have been worked out and it drives right. Call today!
