BEAUTIFUL FALCON CONVERTIBLE! NEW TOP, V8 W/ AUTO, GREAT PAINT / INTERIOR, NICE!

Everything a Mustang can do, this Falcon does equally well for a fraction of the price. Packing a burbling 260 cubic inch V8, a fresh interior, and a clean Skylight Blue paint job, this vintage ragtop is ready to have some fun this summer.

Everyone knows that the Falcon begat the Mustang, but somehow the Mustang became an A-list celebrity while the Falcon remained a performance bargain. This one has a very nice repaint over straight California sheetmetal that looks fantastic. Looking more like a baby Fairlane, the Falcon's tidy proportions and ability to handle a V8 under the hood make it a very entertaining car on the street. Someone has spent a good deal of effort bringing this one up to its current clean state, and the overall look is very nicely done. Gaps are good, there's no sign of rust damage or repairs, even around the wheel wells, and the paint has a brilliant shine that comes from modern two-stage urethane. The Falcon got plenty of brightwork, too, including the sweeping trim along the flanks, a bright grille, and the highly detailed insert on the trunk that holds the 'Futura' script, all of which is in excellent shape. Round taillights reflect Ford's fascination with jet ... Please ask for the full description.

Round taillights reflect Ford's fascination with jet propulsion and further enhance the family resemblance.

This car also sports an ultra-clean matching blue interior, complete with new two-tone seat covers, fresh carpets, and nicely finished door panels. The factory instruments cover the basics, along with an aftermarket tach mounted up high on the dash and a center console down between the seats. The dash is nicely finished and we love the woodgrained wheel, which gives the Falcon an upscale feel. A factory AM radio still lives in the dash, but a newer AM/FM/CD stereo has been neatly installed in the glove box and feeds speakers hidden throughout the interior, so the original looks aren't spoiled. A cool light blue power convertible top was just installed and fits beautifully, stowing itself under a matching blue boot. The Falcon also gets a good-sized trunk with no issues, so it's ready to hit the road.

Underhood, the goal was clearly to create a super-sanitary engine bay that features the 260 cubic inch V8 like artwork. Satin black inner fenders and firewall are the perfect backdrop for what we believe is the original engine. It is further augmented with bright chrome valve covers and a matching open-element air cleaner with correct reproduction decals on top. Wiring and plumbing are neatly done in the factory style, and you'll note that as a '64, this car still runs a generator (alternators would arrive in late '64). The engine runs superbly, quick to start and idling with a wonderful V8 burble from the recent dual exhaust system. Underneath, it's quite solid with no signs of major deterioration in any of the critical unit-body support structures and the factory braces are still in place. A 2-speed Ford-O-Matic automatic transmission feeds an 8-inch rear end with 3.25 gears inside and those 205/70/14 BFG radials on Magnum 500 wheels complete the look.

This Falcon has a great look that's far nicer than you'd expect. Falcons are red hot right now and cars like this cool Spring never hang around for long, so call today!
