BELEIVED ORIGINAL DRIVETRAIN, ORIGINAL COLOR COMBO, COOL PRE-WAR BUICK!

Cherishing a classic car is about understanding and appreciating its history. That's why we love this 1940 Buick Limited Series 90 Sedan. It wears its decades with pride in a fantastically correct-style presentation. So you get a true pre-WWII treasure with a straight-eight motor and a premium attitude that was instilled from day one.

Buick people instantly recognize this as something special. The 90-series Limited sedans were true Cadillac rivals, and so they were a rare sight when new. And it only gets more exceptional over 80 years later. The black paint is what you want on a formal body like this. It's part of an older application that has plenty of aged-in style. So it sets the vintage tone from every angle. You can always opt for a high-gloss respray, but this kind of appearance today is decades in the making. And you really do want something looking quite vintage from 1940 because it was a landmark year. Buick redesigned the line so that it had a wider chrome grille, long parking lights, and headlights integrated into the fenders. This new styling was combined with classic formal elements like the full-length trim, whitewall tires, and dual spare wheels integrated into ... Please ask for the full description.

Description

This new styling was combined with classic formal elements like the full-length trim, whitewall tires, and dual spare wheels integrated into the front fenders. And of course, the Buick Eight badge in the back meant you needed a long hood up front leading the way. It's a distinct and beautiful style that didn't return after WWII, and so this one to cherish.

When you get to the car show, we know you're going to love opening the suicide doors for everyone to have a peek inside. Just like the exterior, the inside keeps a very classic/stock style that likes to be both complete and show off its age. These could have been put into limousine service. So the rear seat has ample space, a fold-down center armrest, individual ashtrays, and a foot rest. But vintage motoring today is all about the classic driving experience. Up front you get a big three-spoke wheel with Buick horn ring. There are replacement units available, but there's just something electric about feeling the generations who came before you every time you grip the wheel. And the smooth action of the column-shifted three-speed transmission is pure classic fun. Plus, the art deco dash looks nice and everything you want is in place, right down to the AM radio that's there for display.

Not only do you get to open the suicide doors at the shows, but the butterfly hood is always an attention-grabber, too. They'll marvel at the motor's presentation and its original-style condition - and we even believe this is original to the car. The 320 cubic-inch "Dyna-Flash" straight-eight looks amazing, especially with the self-promoting head cover that has the right touch of age. The motor has been given the right care in the fundamentals, like newer hoses, wires, belt, coil, and a rebuilt carburetor. The nature of the straight-eight means a smoother running car. Out on the road, this car also feels much more modern thanks to Buick's independent front end and coil spring rear. It's all part of a package that not only impresses you with how it looks, but also how comfortable authentic pre-WWII motoring can be...if you're in the right car.

The sale comes complete with the owner's manual, a service manual, and spare components. Don't miss your chance at this true classic Buick, call today!
