THE FUTURE OF MUSCLE, HOTROD 1 CONTINUATION, RAMJET 454ZL1, TKO 5-SPEED, LOADED!

Regular readers of "Hot Rod" magazine will probably recognize this incredible 1969 Camaro, which is one of only 69 continuation cars following the construction of "Hot Rod 1." Hot Rod 1 was built as a showcase for the all-new Dynacorn steel Camaro bodies, and this one delivers not only incredible sheetmetal but an all-aluminum big block, a trick suspension, and an interior that's worlds beyond the original.

Hot Rod 1 was bright Rally Green, but this one, built by Jim Barber and the experts at Classic Automotive Restoration Specialists, is brilliant red, so if you want subtle, you'll have to shop somewhere else. At a glance, the car looks like your average high-end Camaro build, but when you get up close, that's when you notice that the bodywork is far nicer than any Camaro you've ever seen. I don't just mean it's straight, it's so straight that it looks like it was carved out of a single chunk of steel and the body panel lines were drawn on with a ruler. Everything lines up beautifully, the finish is miles deep, and the black stripes are traditional but a little wider to give them a custom look. Other trick modes include the Corvette C5 side marker lights and the vents in the quarter ... Please ask for the full description.

Other trick modes include the Corvette C5 side marker lights and the vents in the quarter panels that are actually functional, not just a bolt-on ornament. Add a cowl-induction hood, RS front end with hidden headlights, and a trick Trans Am style rear spoiler and you get one impressive F-body. Painted bumpers add a monochromatic, updated look and it does wear custom emblems indicating that this is one of the special Hot Rod 1 continuation cars.

The interior nails the retro look without doing away with the modern conveniences that everyone expects from a top-notch build. Factory buckets and rear bench have been wrapped in appropriate-looking leather seat covers that are straight out of 1969, and the headrests wear Hot Rod 1 emblems that look great. The dash was filled with Auto Meter Phantom gauges using a custom insert and the original console was retained, although it's now got a 5-speed shifter. That trick wheel is a custom piece that recalls the '60s but in a totally new way and features like air conditioning, power windows, locks, and seats, and an AM/FM/CD stereo, so this car is a pleasure to drive even when you're not using all the horsepower. There's a black power convertible top that fits better than almost any we've seen and the trunk is finished beautifully, including a custom speaker box with CD changer.

The engine is a GM Performance Parts ZL1 454 cubic inch V8 with Ram Jet electronic fuel injection. One of only 200 built by the General, it's got an aluminum block and heads, a forged rotating assembly, and that towering Ram Jet injection setup on top, making it not only powerful, but beautiful to behold. The engine bay is incredibly well detailed, with a custom firewall, smoothed inner fenders, and all the plumbing and wiring cleverly hidden out of sight. It's proud to show off all that aluminum, so only the valve covers were painted, and there's not a single component that wasn't massaged in some way before being installed. Linked to a Tremec TKO500 5-speed manual gearbox and a custom-built Moser 12-bolt rear end, you won't have to worry about breakage when running all 510 horsepower through it. The chassis is beautifully detailed and immaculately finished and with a trick Detroit Speed suspension and big disc brakes at all four corners, it rides and handles like a modern supercar. Ultra deep-dish Budnik wheels look awesome and carry staggered 245/35/18 front and 285/30/20 rear performance radials.

Go ahead and do a Google search on this car and you'll see all the details. Fully sorted and savagely fast, it's the most incredible 1969 Camaro you'll ever see. Call today!
