PRO-BUILT 502 V8, 3-SPEED AUTO, 4-WHEEL DISC, UK RACE HISTRY, TRACK READY, SLICK

If you're looking for a cool cruising Chevy, we can show you something else in our inventory. Instead, this 1969 Chevrolet Camaro is the kind of big block machine that can eat up any asphalt from the boulevard to the dragstrip. And this full build is more than just awesome power, because this American icon has most of its performance history outside of the USA.

Think of this car as an ambassador of horsepower. The story we're told is that this one was imported to the UK in 1987. It was already built to be a bracket racer. This spent years with some well-known drag racers on the other side of the Atlantic. And just like in our great tradition of Pro Street cars, this one still shows a UK tax disc in the windshield (that's how we know it was still there at least into 2013.) The full package is an awesome build because after all, this one starts with a terrific American icon: the '69 Camaro. It looks bold dipped in orange, and it has the right Z/28 appearance with the badging and racing stripes. Plus, there are so many ways this one announces it's a very professional and serious street-eating machine. The tall cowl hood contains the full beastly motor. The rear was tubbed and the ... Description

The rear was tubbed and the openings stretched to fit the massive Mickey Thompson rear rubber. The full front end, doors, and decklid are now all fiberglass to save weight. There are even clever details, like how the trunk lock is now the battery shutoff.

The interior doesn't even try to pretend it's anything but a serious machine. In fact, the largest concession it might be making is that there's a passenger seat. But it does also have an eye for style with the orange and white theme from the exterior returning inside on everything from the racing seats to the floors. You get a full custom safety cage and full racing harnesses. Toggle switches, a ratchet shifter for the TH400, and a full AutoMeter Sport-Comp gauge package put a very speedy package firmly in your hands. And don't forget to be on the lookout for the unique details that remind you of this car's time in the UK, like the Smiths speedometer that looks like it belongs on a classic Aston Martin.

Under the hood is some serious speedy business. This is the mighty 502 cubic-inch crate V8. The custom valve covers announce the build from Pollen Enterprises, a well-respected drag race shop in the UK. They did a full rebuild that started with it being bored .030 over for 509ci total. It was enhanced and fortified with JE pistons, Eagle H-beam rods, a Herbert camshaft, and Dave Pollen ported heads with a 125bhp shot of nitrous. It inhales with a Holley Dominator four-barrel carburetor and Weiand high rise aluminum, and the headers add power and thunder to the exhaust note. It's a monster powerhouse, and so it also needs the right supporting components. That's why you have an MSD ignition, plenty of steel braided lines, and an aluminum radiator w/electric fan. As you look at the undercarriage photos, you'll see custom frame work, an updated front end, and a ladder bar rear with diagonal brace and adjustable coilovers. Plus, there are four-wheel disc brakes for ideal all-around control.

Occasionally you may see another extra-mean Pro Street Camaro out there, but we bet you're the only one who ever gets to talk about burnouts at the Ace Cafe in London. So if you love a unique icon that was built to burn up the asphalt, call today!
