This 1978 Oldsmobile Cutlass Salon Brougham has a distinct style, well-coordinated color-combo, A/C interior, and V8 power. And not only is the value price attractive, but so is the rare five-speed manual transmission.
The Cutlass Salon was only available for a brief few years. We weren't quite ready for GM to deliver this kind of fastback roofline in our sedans when this first appeared on the scene in 1978. So GM canceled the program early. That makes them a true rarity today, and so it's great to have such a well-presented example. The factory-correct silver has a nice gloss and shine. All the brightwork, including the big chrome bumpers, has a nice shine that complements the deeper silver color. And the details are great, from the urethane panels bridging the bumper gaps, to the factory-correct wheel covers. Plus, this premium Brougham has a deep red rub strip that looks like a pinstripe, and it looks so distinctive against the silver.
That hint of deep red on the outside is also a nice preview of the full burgundy interior. Everything inside is highly original and its well-preserved appearance make us believe that the low odometer may reflect actual mileage. The comfy ... Please ask for the full description.

The comfy velour has a great button-top pattern on all the seating, and the extra glass of this fastback style gives this an airy cabin you don't get in many classics. And so if you were thinking this was a great car to share with family and friends, then the air conditioning upgraded to cold-blowing R134a will keep them all comfy. The full package is a great classic-style presentation, right down to the working AM radio. But this is also built for driver fun. That's why you have features like the high-back bucket seat and the rarely-seen floor shifter.
Open the hood to see a very honest and original engine bay. The 260 cubic-inch V8 is believed to be original to the car, and the whole package looks like the right mix of preservation and proper maintenance. That's why this once fires up nicely and runs smoothly. The five-speed manual transmission is both an ultra-rare feature and your key to fully enjoying this classic Olds.
