Description

VERY LOW 12K ORIGINAL MILES, ALL STOCK AND ORIGINAL CAR, UPGRADED A/C, CLEAN!

This 1982 Chevrolet Corvette Collector Edition is truly a special car. It's an exceptionally preserved machine with ultra low-mileage and rare features. So while this one has not seen much time out of the garage, we know it will have many of the true collector dreaming about showing this one off everywhere.

The C3 was the longest-running generation in Corvette history. It embodied exactly what we wanted in a sports car. The classic long hood and short deck could make it European, but the sharp angles and big flares made sure this was unmistakably American. It's a true icon, and so Chevrolet sent it off correctly in 1982 with the limited Collector Edition. This added over 23 percent to the base price of the car, and so the package went beyond just special badging. These had an exclusive Silver Beige paint. On top of that was a well-coordinated graphics package that drew added attention to the power bulge on the hood and the sporty vents in the front fender. And speaking of drawing added attention, the pinstriping might just be the best feature. It showcases curvaceous fenders, rear spoiler, and exclusive turbine-style wheels. In fact, there's even striping around the rear glass, which is particularly important, because the Collector Edition is the one and only time a C3 had a rear hatch. So with a car that's this special, you know how awesome it is to find an example that has averaged less than 350 miles annually. And because this Collector Edition has been treated like a collector car all its life, you'll be hard-pressed to find anything that was not installed or applied by the Bowling Green factory nearly 40 years ago.

The same low mileage and good care that has preserved the exterior also gives you a fantastically preserved interior, too. That's important, because there are more exclusive touches inside. The Silver Beige leather is only found on this special edition, and it has terrific multi-tone inserts on the door panels, armrest, and bucket seats. These are loaded with the best features, like power windows, a tilt steering column, and factory air conditioning (now blowing cold with R134a.) And of course, T-tops let you open this up and share the cool color combo with the world. While these Collector Edition cars already came loaded with the best features, a select few like this one also got some terrific added options. It includes a power driver's seat, power locks, power side mirrors, and cruise control. The AM/FM/cassette stereo with integrated CB radio controls is a great period-correct touch. And since this option was the most expensive on the list (aside from the Collector Edition upgrade) it's also one of the rarest. These are the kind of details that especially matter with preserved classic Corvettes, so be prepared to get some true enthusiasts talking when they see this one.

The engine package was a preview of the new C4 Corvette. The Cross-Fire 350 cubic-inch V8 is a factory fuel-injected motor only available on the 1982 C3. It has been given the right maintenance to make sure it remains a strong-running motor that fires up with the eagerness a proper FI machine should. The V8 is mated to a 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission, which has built a reputation for being versatile with both quick kick-downs into performance as well as smooth overdrive comfort. And because this is such fantastically preserved car, the engine and transmission are the numbers-matching units. While the ultra-clean undercarriage photos remind you of this car's level of total preservation, when you do decide to put miles on the odometer, you will be rewarded. The fully independent suspension, power steering, four-wheel power disc brakes, and optional Gymkhana suspension are part of a terrific driving package.

The sale come complete with the reproduction window sticker and reproduction buildsheet so you can showcase the rarity and distinction of this well-preserved coupe. This is a Collector Edition for true collectors, so if you love an awesome American classic, call today!
