350 CI, TH350, ELECTRIC BLUE PAINT, CUSTOM INTERIOR, POLISHED TORQUE THRUST
Like the look of the GTO, but maybe a bone-stock restoration isn't quite what you had in mind? Are you a fan of performance but don't want to give up a comfortable interior to get it? If you answered yes to either question, you might want to give this slick 1967 Pontiac GTO a closer look.
The electric blue paint job isn't going to keep you out of sight, but if it's attention you want, this car is pretty good at getting it. Finished a few years ago, it has an undeniable street fighter look that's matched by the shiny paint and scooped hood to give it a very aggressive look. Finish quality is about what you'd expect for a car that was designed and built to do combat, nice enough to be admired but it isn't a trailer queen by any stretch of the imagination. This is a real code 42 GTO, but it's not priced like a Goat on the current market, so the bargain is hard to ignore. And those three little letters on the quarter panels seem to keep the kids in their Honda's at bay. Chrome bumpers sparkle against the bright blue paint while all the stainless appears to be in good original condition.
The bucket seat interior has obviously been customized, but the tasteful cloth inserts on the original bucket seats add a softer look that works just fine. Custom embroidery on the seat backs remind everyone about this car's identity and you have to be crazy to not dig the Chief Pontiac's likeness on the rear bench. Carpets and door panels are older but still in decent shape and the floors are protected by heavy-duty rubber mats. The exterior color has been pulled inside as well, covering the dashboard, seat trim, and even the steering column, and the wood-rimmed steering wheel warms things up a bit in the otherwise cool interior. The instruments also appear to be original and there's an AM/FM/cassette stereo in the dash that makes it easy to head out on the road. The trunk remains unfinished, but wears period-inspired spatter paint.
A 350 cubic inch Pontiac V8 delivers solid performance and dependability for this well-priced GOAT. Dressed up with chrome valve covers and a matching air cleaner, the wide V8 looks fast under the hood. It sports the usual performance part upgrades, including an Edelbrock intake and 4-barrel carburetor as well as a set of long-tube exhaust headers. There's a thick radiator up front keeping things cool, along with a big fan, and it sounds pretty gnarly when you key it up. A TH350 3-speed automatic transmission has quick reflexes that work well with the engine's wide torque curve to make it feel responsive at any speed, and there's a 10-bolt rear out back. The chassis isn't detailed for show, but it isn't hiding under a thick layer of undercoating, either, so you know exactly what you're getting with this Poncho. Polished Torque Thrust wheels accentuate the wicked stance and carry staggered 205/70/15 front and 235/70/15 rear blackwall radials.
A neat car that colors a bit outside the lines. If pure stock isn't your thing but you like the look of a GTO, then this might be a wise choice. Call today!
