FUEL-INJECTED 350, 700R4, MONSTER 4X4, DUAL TANKS, IPOD CONNECT, TRAIL BEAST!
Admit it, you've always admired big, tastefully-done 4x4s like this 1987 Chevy C10 Silverado. It keeps its factory look but amps it up a bit with the usual 4x4 upgrades and the result is like a stock truck on steroids. It's also loaded with options and incredibly straight, making it a high-quality, yet very affordable, proposition.
Anything this big is going to command a lot of attention. That's likely original paint, and while it isn't perfect, it does look appropriate and white seems to hold up better than almost anything else over time. It doesn't look like this was a work truck, and instead the short bed/regular cab was probably used for commuting and fun on weekends during its early years. As a result, the bodywork is in good shape with straight panels and gaps that look just like what the factory offered. A truck like this was clearly driven over the years though, so while it may have a few imperfections here and there, there's no mistake that this one is something you can be proud of, while having some serious fun. Obvious additions include the big chrome roll bar in the bed, a set of matching tubular bed rails, and the KC lights on top give it a great look, although they're not currently hooked up (check local laws before turning them on). There's also a drop-in bedliner that fits well and allows you to still put the truck to work. The front bumper is stock, but there's also a big rear bumper with chrome diamond plate steps that give it a heavy-duty look.
The handsome red interior is typical late-80s GM, with velour-like upholstery that's comfortable and durable. The door panels show some modest wear, particularly where the driver's elbow might rest, but things like the carpets and dash pad are quite good. Factory instruments are stashed behind an aftermarket billet aluminum gauge panel that updates the interior's look, and there's a newer leather-wrapped steering wheel that still seems appropriate for the surprisingly luxurious Chevy. Options include factory A/C, power windows and locks, and a tilt steering column, making this a no-compromises pickup that can work well and coddle its passengers. An AM/FM/CD/iPod stereo has been fitted in the lower corner of the instrument panel, replacing the original radio, and it sounds great through speakers fitted in the stock locations. Heavy-duty floor mats help protect those original carpets and there's a sliding rear window for those days that don't quite need the A/C.
The engine is a 350 cubic inch V8, and with throttle-body fuel injection, it starts easily, idles well even when it's cold, and has a nice, flat torque curve that's perfect for a full-sized pickup. No outrageous modifications, just OEM parts throughout that ensure easy service and reliability in the future. Backed by a 700R4 4-speed automatic overdrive transmission, it's comfortable around town and cruises easily on the highway without getting buzzy. A custom dual exhaust system with Flowmaster mufflers gives it a definite hot-rod sound that really works with the big 4x4 look, and while it's not detailed underneath, it is in good shape with no signs of abuse. Twin gas tanks give it bladder-bursting range on the highway and the upgraded suspension gives it a great look plus space for those giant 35x12.50-15 Goodyear Wrangler radials.
It's OK, we all know these are cool trucks. If you've wanted one since you were a kid, this is a nice one that's got all the toys and is ready to go right away. Call today and start having fun!
