SLICK R107 DROPTOP CRUISER, 5.7L V8, AUTO W/ OD, 4-WHEEL DISCS, PB/S, A/C, CLEAN

This 1989 Mercedes-Benz 560SL is a well-kept classic made for drivers. You've got a terrific factory-correct color combo, a luxurious interior, both roofs, fuel-injected V8 power...and it's all offered for a terrific price.

This 560SL is from the final year for the now legendary R107 model designation. These cars are iconic because they represent an era when very few companies could build a convertible without worrying about safety regulations. Mercedes crafted their cars so robustly that the R107 exceeded these standards, and they did it elegantly without an unsightly roll bar. Today it remains elegant, powerful, comfortable, timeless, and nimble - a classic that can do everything. And this versatile car was built for driving and showing off a little. The factory correct Garnet Red was resprayed later in life so that this sunshine-friendly convertible can look good in the sunlight. And the wheels were even upgraded to high-polish alloys. It looks quite nice without making you too nervous to take this one on real road trips. There's even a clear bra to help protect the front. There's a black folding roof for those times when you get caught out in the rain. Plus, there's also ... Please ask for the full description.

Description

Plus, there's also the optional color-matched hardtop for those days when you want a coupe-like profile.

While you have the choice of two-tops, the best choice is no roof at all. The R107 SL was great for providing a hard tonneau to hide the roof and make this look like a true roadster. Plus, the tan leather interior makes for a sophisticated color combo against the deep red exterior. It's loaded with great features like power windows, power locks, an alarm, cruise control, an upgraded AM/FM/CD stereo, and cold-blowing R134a air conditioning. It even has features often missing from these classics, like the tool kit and first aid kit. The odometer reflects the actual mileage, but the overall condition shows you that this one has been treated with respect for over three decades. If you do decide to replace or upgrade any features, the long life of the R107 model means many pieces are surprisingly affordable. And while nearly twenty years of history makes this car iconic, having the final year of the series means there are some features that were not on earlier versions. This includes the four-speed automatic transmission, third brake light, and a driver's air bag.

The large 5.6-liter fuel-injected V8 was a terrific motor to have. It was the kind of displacement you could expect in a large American cruiser, except Mercedes engineered smoothness along with its power. This one even shows the right signs of maintenance, including a newer Behr aluminum radiator. The overdrive transmission, fully independent suspension, power steering, and four-wheel power disc brakes are all part of a package built to be comfortable, sharp, and an all-around terrific driver.

The sale comes complete with plenty of maintenance records and the owner's manual. This is a stylish and luxurious driver offered for a terrific price. Call today!!!
