There's nothing better than a 1934 Ford, especially when it's dressed like a rock star. This handsome steel tudor packs a stout Chevy small block, a beautiful burgundy paint job, and has a very cool old-school retro feel that will take you back to the glory days of the Auto-Rama. A beautiful, desirable 1934 Ford that's ready to cruise at a very reasonable price.

First off, the car has a steel body, which gives it an authenticity that many fiberglass rods lack. Of course, the heavily louvered hood is steel, too, and the rake is exactly right to highlight the tudor sedan's almost perfect proportions. The sparkling burgundy paint was done years ago, but the beautiful candy finish gives this ford a sophisticated 1930s look. It retains almost all the original trim, including grille, door handles, hood ornament, cowl lights, and those big headlights, so the traditional look remains; it hasn't even been chopped! The doors open suicide-style, as they did in 1934 and the running boards are still wrapped in rubber so they're functional as well as stylish. The fabric roof insert has been replaced with a matching burgundy insert, creating a uniform look that's totally functional at the same time. The license plate frame is neatly integrated into the rear pan, right where the spare tire would have lived and flanked by a pair of original taillights on chrome stalks.

Professionally crafted, the baroque burgundy velour interior is simply awesome in a retro-gothic kind of way. Twin bucket seats are vastly more supportive and stylish than the original chairs, but with the ornate stitching, it's definitely a full custom look. The original rear bench has been upholstered to match and offers plenty of stretch-out room for passengers. We're betting you've never seen a steering wheel like that before, which is part of why this car is so special, and it includes a tilt steering column so it's easy to settle in for a long road trip. A selection of digital gauges look suitably trick, and we love the way the shifter indicator uses custom LEDs in the center of the dash. Add in a decent-sounding Pioneer AM/FM/cassette stereo, and you have a car that's a joy to drive, even if you're just running up to the corner store.

With everyone building Fords stuffed full of Chevy motors, it shouldn't be surprising to find a 350 cubic inch V8 under this tudor's pointed hood. However, thanks to a pair of Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetors up top, a set of custom valve covers, and plenty of shiny trim, it puts a fresher spin on an old favorite. Despite the aggressive induction system, this rod starts well, idles nicely, and happily goes wherever you point it without any drama, which is what you want from a car built to drive. The firewall was only lightly modified to accommodate the Chevy V8, preserving front legroom and a factory look that shows well when you open the hood. Underneath, the chassis is ready to rock, with a familiar I-beam front axle, 4-wheel disc brakes, and a trick Jaguar independent rear end. In between, there's a TH350 3-speed automatic transmission and a custom driveshaft, and a burbling dual exhaust system that never gets annoying on the road. Staggered chrome wire wheels give it just the right retro look and carry 195/75/15 front and 235/75/15 rear blackwall radials.

No longer trophy bait, this '34 Ford embodies the best hot-rodding traditions of simply getting out on the road and having fun. Lots of power, a gorgeous, functional interior, and proven reliability mean that this is one for drivers, not posers. Call today!
