This 1966 Chevrolet Chevy II is a terrific Nova Pro Touring. That means not only an upgrade to a modern and powerful V8, but also cool paintwork, a fresh A/C interior, a six-speed stick, four-wheel disc brakes, and serious suspension upgrades. So if you're ready for details on the best of everything, read on.
The crisp upright lines of the second-gen Chevy II are a great place to start for a custom speed machine. They give the cars a substantial and serious look while still keeping the function of a smaller and lighter-weight classic. While some Novas try to be vintage sleepers, this one like to show off its modern and aggressive upgrades. The restoration was completed in 2016, and the black paint has the luster of a more recent upgrade. And those silver racing stripes painted on top are pure attention-getters. Plus, they painted the bumpers, headlight bezels, and other trim in silver to give this extra distinction in the details. Of course, what people will really be looking at are the aggressive pieces, like 17-inch Vison alloys and the huge power bulge of the cowl hood.
The interior is the right mix of vintage pieces and newer comfort. It starts up front with the bucket seats. ... Please ask for the full description.

These have the classic low-back look, but now are finished in a comfy velour. And the upgraded cup holder center console is a nice touch to show how there is silver accenting in this black interior (just like the exterior.) The original dash has a nice clean look, and so there was plenty of space for upgrading. This includes cold-blowing R134a air conditioning, and an AM/FM/CD stereo with an aux input for your iPod and a USB port to charge your phone. So this is the kind of classic that will keep family and friends happy. But in this Nova, the driver is the most important. You have a grippy Grant sports steering wheel, Summit auxiliary gauges, and a large AutoMeter tach mounted high on the dash so it's always easy to see. That last one goes particularly well with the upgraded stick shift.
Under the hood is the tidy look of a proper power upgrade. This is a 6.0-liter V8 borrowed from a 2003 Silverado. So you know this one already had the kind of power and torque you'll love, and that's before a ton of upgrades. This LQ4 motor has been enhanced and fortified with a Comp Cams camshaft, Holley four-barrel carburetor, Edelbrock intake, and long tube headers feeding the rumbling dual exhaust. It's a powerful package, and you get full control over it thanks to the upgraded Tremec T56 six-speed manual transmission. This feeds a strong Roush/Yates Ford 9-inch rear. And while you're checking out the rear in the undercarriage photos, don't forget to look up front. It's a full subframe upgrade from Total Cost Involved that includes tubular A-arms (a $4,200 investment alone!) Plus, with power steering, modern sport tires, subframe connectors, and CPP four-wheel disc brakes, this is a solid all-around performance classic.
