Description

TRIPLE BLACK PONY W/ 302 V8 & 5-SPEED, PWR STEER, FRONT DISCS, BINDER OF RECEPTS

Most 1966 Ford Mustangs you see are classics for nice people, but this one is for the bad boy. Sinister triple black, GT upgrades, a five-speed, and a big 302 V8 under the hood make this one memorable. But underneath this aggressive image you'll see a solid restored ragtop that's ready for road trip fun.

The trim tag tells us this was born a Raven Black car. That's always desirable because it's a bold and sophisticated, which is the perfect choice for a Mustang convertible. This one also benefits from clean, straight sheetmetal, and so the shiny finish looks extra crisp. It looks like great care has been taken with the chrome. Shining bumpers, bright trim, and well-done details (like the 302 fender callouts) all make for a quality package. The roof looks clean and complete, and it powers down with just the flip of a switch. Plus, you'll love the sporty upgrades, like the styled steel wheels (including the spare) and GT pieces like the fog lights in the grille and dual exhaust coming out of the rear valance.

The black exterior, power roof, and interior make up the always-desirable triple-black combo, and it appears this one was born this way! Plus, this one was made with the bets pieces and upgrades. Everyone loves a Pony package that adds the running horses embedded into the seats. These have a particularly fresh and clean look, because new upholstery was part of the car's restoration. In fact, we have nearly $30k in receipts document work in this classic from 2010 to 2013. And when you pay for quality, it lasts. From the smooth dash to the plush carpeting, this is a nice place to spend some time. There's even upgraded driving music with a AM/FM iPod stereo with USB input and upgraded JL Audio speakers. While there will be plenty of family and friends that will want to go for a ride, the driver's seat will always be the best. You have classic elements like the wood-rimmed sports steering wheel and desirable Rally Pac with tach and clock. This is met with upgrades like an armrest center console and a full Dakota Digital gauge package upgrade. And have you counted the gears on the stick shift yet?

The largest part that makes this Mustang such an aggressive package is under the hood. You know a 302 cubic-inch V8 was not available from the factory until a few years later, but it was just too good to resist installing in this drop-top. Not only did the restoration investments make for a clean motor, but they also made it meaner. It was built with a roller cam and roller rockers. Plus, there was a full Edelbrock performance upgrade with the camshaft, aluminum heads, Performer intake, and four-barrel carburetor. And ceramic coated shorty heads allow this V8 to exhale with power while feeding the dual exhaust with Flowmasters. It's supported by the right pieces, like the Concept One pulleys, serpentine belts, steel braided hoses, an MSD distributor, and the battery was moved to the trunk for better weight distribution. The motor fires up like a well-respected powerful pony, and you get better control over it all than the factory ever gave thanks to the upgraded five-speed manual transmission. As intimidating as this Mustang might look and sound, it doesn't always need to be a wild stallion. It can easily be tamed for Sunday drives thanks to the upgraded Borgeson power steering system, newer shocks, and front disc brakes.

The sale comes complete with the owner's manual, title documentation, build receipts, and a binder documenting the work. This is the Mustang that puts some nice muscle behind its classic American icon image. Call today!!!
