Description

ULTIMATE SLEEPER SOLSTICE, BUILT LS3, T56 6 SP, CTS-V REAR END, BUILD RECEIPTS!

The rarity of the 2006 Pontiac Solstice made it a classic from day one. But while many of us wished there was a V8 under the hood, someone actually did something about it. Oh yeah, this rare and sleek convertible is now bringing 480 horsepower to the streets! And as you dig into all the details, you'll find that this custom built was done correctly to give you a turn-key head-turner right now.

Before we dig into the monster motor upgrade, take a moment to appreciate how much of a sleeper this is, and how well Pontiac did the overall design. Aiming to be a lighter, smaller, and nimbler companion to the Corvette, the Solstice has all the great performance design cues we all love – the long hood, scalloped fenders, sleek profile, and short rear deck. Plus, Pontiac was really doing a great job with their styling of the twin grille that was dangerously BMW-like, the chrome windshield surround that paid tribute to their best muscle cars, and everyone loves the dual buttresses that meet the headrests. All of this is straight from the factory, just like glossy silver paint and the 18-inch alloy wheels. But when you open the Lamborghini-style doors, it hints that this Pontiac has been given some nice upgrades.

Those peeking inside will once again see a very sleeper-like supercar. But after all, Pontiac already made a terrific cockpit, so it didn't really need altering. The supportive bucket seats highlight a setup that's built around the driver. You get a grippy three-spoke sports steering wheel, and beyond that is a handsome set of analog gauges that light up red when you turn the key. This is loaded with all the right features, including power windows, power locks, dual air bags, a powerful AM/FM/XM stereo with CD changer and auxiliary input. And because the factory air conditioning is blowing nice and cold, you can enjoy top down motoring long into the summer season. In fact, this one looks completely stock inside, except for the cup holders and the shiny gearstick that just seems to be calling out for your right hand.

There was over $20k invested in this custom Pontiac, and everyone knows it the moment you open the hood. The 6.2-liter fuel-injected V8 borrowed from the Corvette is so expertly fitted inside that there looks like you couldn't stuff any more horsepower in there. But in fact, they did. This LS3 motor was given a hot cam, which gives it a 480 horsepower rating – that's an 11% jump above the '08 Corvette and over two and a half times more than the standard Solstice! That kind of upgrade also requires the right supporting components. So there's a large aluminum radiator w/electric fans to keep it running cool (even if you're in traffic with the A/C pumping.) You have full control over the V8 upgrade thanks to a T56 six-speed manual transmission. This feeds a custom driveshaft that connects to a Cadillac CTS-V rear end. So yes, everything that matters was beefed up to the LS3's muscle level and there is only 14k miles on the drivetrain per the consignor. And more than just a big power machine, this convertible is a great cruiser, too, thanks to features like power steering and four-wheel disc brakes.

The sale comes with build receipts, maintenance records, and even the original window sticker. So you can see what this roadster once was, and follow the journey that made it a truly awesome machine. This is the car you always wished Pontiac would have built, and if you're quick enough, it could be in your driveway tomorrow. Call today!!!
