BIG BLOCK 396CI POWER, BUCKETS W/ CENTER CONSOLE, 12 BOLT REAR, GREAT COLOR!

It's a Chevelle. It's black. It's got a big block. Need we say more? If you're looking for a brutally fast piece of muscle that's both affordable and nicely finished, this '72 Chevelle might be your best choice. Not a perfect trailer queen, but a great car with incredible potential, all for a bargain price.

The horsepower wars were all but over in 1972, but the Chevelle still looked the part of a street brawler. Thanks to the vast interchangeability of the parts, all the big horsepower pieces bolt right in and you can give it a genuine SS paint job to complete the illusion. By the looks of it, this one likely started out as a clean car anyway, so making it straight was easy. In fact, it was so straight that black paint became the obvious choice and it looks downright brutal with the white SS stripes. It's not perfect, but a quick color sand and buff will make it look incredible, but even as-is, this car has presence. A lot of A-body enthusiasts like the later single-headlight look for its cleaner lines, and combined with the blacked-out SS grille, reproduction SS badging, hood pins, and flashy chrome bumpers, this is one heck of a good-looking car.

Black buckets, a console, and a few nice ... Please ask for the full description.

Black buckets, a console, and a few nice options make this Chevelle an easy sell, too. The upholstery appears brand new and uses factory patterns and materials for an authentic look. It also has clean door panels and got fresh carpets along the way, and the horseshoe shifter will always be the coolest way to pick your gears. The instrument panel has the round gauges of an SS model, but as many know, without a build sheet it's extremely difficult to claim SS authenticity. Nevertheless, the bezel and dash look great. There are big speakers on the rear package shelf just waiting for you to pump some tunes through, selected of course by the aftermarket AM/FM/CD stereo attached under the dash. With this car, you also get a finished trunk with spatter paint and a full spare, and if you're a stickler for details, then you can inexpensively add a correct mat to finish it off like the factory would have.

You could still get a big block from the factory in 1972, but nothing that ran like this one. A 396 cubic inch V8 was stuffed between the fenders, painted Chevy Orange, and topped with an Edelbrock intake to help build horsepower. Aside from the open-element air cleaner and a few chrome bits, it looks humble, and a full detail and a can of paint could really spruce it up to show. However, there are signs of recent maintenance throughout, which means that it's ready to cruise today, and you want have to worry about keeping her show-ready. A snarky dual exhaust system gives the big block a baritone rumble and with a TH400 3-speed automatic and a 12-bolt rear end, you don't have to worry about breakage if you get on the loud pedal now and then. The chassis is fairly original and quite solid, and it sits right with a bit of rake for a hot-rod attitude. Classic 15-inch chrome Rallye wheels wear staggered 235/60/15 BFGoodrich T/A radials.

A big, bad, black Chevelle for not a lot of money, this is your opportunity to get into an A-list piece of muscle for not a lot of cash. Call today!
