AWESOME ORIGINAL RESTORED FURY, CORRECT 361CI MOTOR, CLASSIC 60'S COLOR COMBO!
Calling all Plymouth purists. Here is a very fine, and very original example of a '64 Fury. It has been nicely restored and will attract plenty of attention on cruise nights as well as at car shows where it is likely to gather up a shelf full on trophies. Check it out.
This car is the last year of the smaller, lighter, more athletic year models. There is a rake to the chassis that gives the car a bit of attitude even while it is sitting still. That look is enhanced by the two-toned paint job which is the factory correct Chestnut Brown with White roof and highlights. That roof cuts a nice line as it tapers down to meet the rear fenders with the large rear glass extending back a little further as it wraps around from side to side. A spear of White trimmed in chrome runs front to rear down the side with Fury in script just below it on the rear fenders. The paint is fresh and looks super sharp, but not a drop of it was sprayed on before all the body panels were properly prepped and adjusted so that the door and fender gaps were tight and consistent. The hood has a ridge of chrome which leads to a grill with quad headlights underlined by a simple bumper, while out back the show gets a bit fancier with a chromed center panel flanked by stylish taillights with another sharp looking chrome bumper underlining everything.
Open the door and you will find a completely original and stock interior with the one and only exception to that statement being the upgraded Hurst shifter rising from the floor. The door panel sets the tone of the interior in two-tone brown with splashes of chrome and a Fury badge over red, white and blue at the top-center. The two-spoke steering wheel is the factory original brown with a chrome semi-circular horn ring with Plymouth in script across the center of it. It represents the "survivor" spirit of this interior with a couple of little flaws that let you know it's the real deal. The dash itself is about spotless with the chrome surrounding the gauges and textured panel presenting extremely well. Push button ventilation controls are off toward the center just next to the factory AM radio. A pleated cloth split bench seat is in good solid condition with no rips or stains and is being preserved and protected by clear seat covers.
Open the hood and you will find the original 361 cubic inch V8 nestled down in a neat and clean engine bay. It is a numbers matching motor and believed to be the one the car was delivered with. It has been fully restored with particular attention paid to keeping it completely stock from top to bottom and end to end. Fresh belts and hoses and a new battery grace the nicely detailed out engine bay. Power flows back through a 4-speed manual transmission. The chassis received as much love as the engine during the restoration too with signs of that in the new master cylinder that puts the clamp on front disc brakes which assure good stopping power. The steering is tight and a fresh set of multi-leaf springs in the rear along with new shocks all around give the car that nice bit of rake to the chassis and also help it handle nicely. The rubber meets the road through 255/65R15 tires in the rear and 215/65s in the front all mounted on body colored steel wheels with chrome hub caps.
This is a very original and nicely restored example of '64 Fury that is ready for both show and go. Come on down and check it out.
