GREAT DRIVER, 350CI MOTOR, TH350 TRANS, POWER STEERING & FRONT DISCS, SWEET!
Classic good looks with modern running gear. Roll up in this truck and people will think it's a good looking '59 Apache. But there's more to this ride than just good looks. It's a driver. It will burn up some back roads and surprise a few of your buddies in the process.
But let's talk about those good looks for a minute. Vintage pickup trucks are popular for a reason. People like the styling of these things and it looks great in this shade of blue. I mean it doesn't get much better than that big flat hood with spears running down each side before it spills over onto the fenders. There is a Chevy bowtie in the middle of the biggest emblem ever to grace the front of a hood. Under that a chrome grill with Chevrolet embossed into it is flanked by quad headlights trimmed in chrome with a big ol' shiny bumper underlining it all. A spear head with Apache 32 appears on the front fenders and those beautifully sculpted rear fenders on either side of the stepside bed are topped by chrome bed rails. That tall cab has a wraparound windshield that is a classic of the era, and Chevrolet is embossed into the tailgate.
Open the door and the door panel looks like a stock '59 at first. But then you notice the custom touch of the door pull. Then, when you turn your gaze inside, it's obvious this truck has been updated. Nice modern bucket seats are multi-adjustable and have comfortable, pleated, blue velour seating surfaces with black vinyl bolsters on the bottom and back. A late model S-10 steering wheel sits in front of a stock '59, all metal dash. The triangular speedometer trimmed in chrome has the original gauges for engine oil, water temp, voltage and fuel across the top. A custom black center console backs up those gauges with modern Autogage units trimmed in chrome. There is a T-handle B&M shifter for the automatic transmission rising up from the mid part of the console and padded compartment lid provides a nice armrest. Black headliner and carpeting tie it all together nicely.
Open the hood and you will find a modern, tried and true, 350 cubic inch V8 engine sitting down in a neat and clean engine bay. But it doesn't look quite like a '59 Apache engine bay, because its not. The frame on this truck is from a late model S-10. Edelbrock handles the intake system duties starting with a chrome topped air filter feeding an Edelbrock 4-barrel carb and intake manifold. Finned aluminum valve covers look great and help a bit with some oil cooling. An aluminum radiator keeps things running cool too while headers get the spent gasses out through a dual exhaust system. Power is sent back through a Tubo Hydramatic 3-speed automatic to the rear wheels which have snubbers on the springs to prevent windup on hard acceleration. And after you accelerate hard, 4-wheel disc brakes are there to help you haul it back down. The rubber meets the road through 275/60R15s in the rear and 215/65R15s in the front mounted on chrome Cragars all around.
Come on down and take this truck for a ride. You may decide you like it enough to drive it on home.
