This incredible 1967 Chevrolet Camaro RS/SS has a great deal of things going for it: matching numbers, real RS/SS car, original sheetmetal, and a high-quality restoration. We know you guys like cars with pedigrees, and this one has one of the best we've ever seen.
There are a lot of fake Camaros out there and probably even more real ones that have been modified to suit the restorer's taste, but few cars approach this car's level of authenticity. They didn't pick and choose which options to keep and which to add, they looked at what it was when it rolled off the assembly line and duplicated that. That means that the code D Nantucket Blue is correct and expertly rendered in modern two-stage urethane and looks like a million bucks. A proper white SS stripe was wrapped around the nose and it carries a factory-issued flat hood with chrome inserts, arguably a better-looking choice than a cowl-induction piece added later. There is a deck lid spoiler, but it remains in the trunk, so the car has a very clean, smooth look and you already know that things like the RS headlights and black vinyl roof make this a great-looking car.
Even in photographs, you can tell this is a very carefully restored car.
The bright blue interior is pretty much as-delivered, too, and shows extremely well thanks to a full restoration inside. The carpets, door panels, and seats are all new, and things like the gauges are probably excellent original pieces. In fact, the 73,390 miles shown on the odometer are authentic, so you know this car has led a pretty easy life. The gauges cover speed and fuel level, so a set of auxiliary gauges was added under the dash in the usual location, but that's just about the only deviation from stock and it's a functional one that's easy to remove. The original AM radio still sits in the center stack and the 3-spoke steering wheel looks sporting. Even the seat belts were re-webbed with correct blue belts and all of it look as fresh as the day it came home from the dealership. The trunk is fitted with a brand new plaid mat and needs only a correct spare to be show-ready.
That is indeed the original, numbers-matching 350 cubic inch V8 under the hood, fully rebuilt and detailed, including an ultra-rare factory emissions system. Chevy Orange paint, a correct air cleaner, and proper reproduction hoses all give it a show-worthy look and if you're a fan of originality and authenticity, you can definitely appreciate the extra effort. Most of the components, from the carburetor to the exhaust manifolds, are stock, and even the exhaust system uses a correct dual system with transverse muffler for the right sound. A 2-speed PowerGlide automatic transmission spins a rugged 12-bolt rear end, and while the undercarriage isn't detailed for show, there's no denying that this is a well-cared-for original car. Factory Rallys were part of the package and now carry 225/70/14 BFGoodrich T/A radials.
A very strong running car that gets all the little stuff right, this Camaro is the answer to all those guys who ask, "Is it a real SS?" Call today!
