NICELY RESTORED 4X4 JEEP PU, 226 I6, 3-SPEED MANUAL, ORIG APPEARANCE, DRIVES GR8
This 1959 Willys Jeep pickup has a great restoration and a terrific shine. And don't forget, beneath the head-turning looks, this Jeep is the original American 4x4 with a go-anywhere attitude.
The handsome, upright truck body says Jeep as loudly as any modern CJ, and it's an icon familiar the world over. But this pickup still retains its own unique flair. That's why people will love them at the car shows, even if they've never seen one before. This Willys is the product of a father and son labor of love, so they took time with the details. It's particularly nice with its two-tone green and white. The modern clearcoat does a great job of highlighting all the ribbed details that came in the panel stamping (they were originally for strength, but now just increase the cool factor.) And you'll love everything from the Willys badging up front, to the full-side spare mounted on the bed. It has an imposing blocky stance, and its creased sheetmetal even translates nicely on the truck bed. In fact, if you got this stepside from Ford or Chevy during this time, the bed floor was made of wood. Instead, this ready-to-work, military-grade Jeep has strong steel reinforcing it. So as good as this one looks, it always has the underlying feeling that it's ready to get to work.
The interior feels quite nice thanks to a mild refreshing during the restoration. We especially like it on the bench seat that has a nice comfortable cloth finish that doesn't look out of place in this classic interior. The standard Willys cluster has a cool connection to the CJs with the central mount and large speedometer with secondary gauges embedded at the bottom. You also have your heater controls there, which is quite handy for when you're up at dawn to be first in line at the car show. The whole space has a great vintage feeling, right down to the classic dual-spoke steering wheel with Willys center cap.
Under the hood is a 226 cubic-inch Super Hurricane six-cylinder. The L-head motor is the correct powerplant for the car, and because it's a significant part of Jeep history, you'll love how this one is ready to show off. More than just a detail-oriented package, the motor fires up with ease and runs strong like a good Jeep should. The three-speed manual gives you great control on the street or trail. The standard 4x4 system is the backbone of Jeep's reputation, and it's why these trucks were the choice for government duty. And the meaty Kumho tires can dig in to the earth for good traction. But before you get muddy, take time to look at the undercarriage photos, because they show another reminder of how detailed the restoration was on this Jeep pickup.
This classic Jeep pickup is the ultimate expression of going anywhere and looking great doing it. So don't let this restored vintage truck slip away. Call today!!!
