Firebird Trans Am Tribute
6 SPEED T-56 UPGRADE W/ HYDRAULIC CLUTCH, A/C, PONTIAC 400CI TORQUE MONSTER!
It's hard not to like this 1970 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am tribute. It's fresh off a restoration, and you can see the evidence everywhere – even in the undercarriage photos! And while they were investing this icon they gave it all the right modern upgrades from cold A/C to a six-speed manual.
1970 was the debut of the now-legendary second generation, and so it's great to see this coupe in its ionic colors. After all, the original T/A was born in Cameo White with blue accents. When it's combined with the shaker hood, deep chin spoiler, air extractors on the front fenders, and the full-width spoiler, the impression is full-on aggressive. And of course, the legendary hood bird is leading the way. The wide front grilles, the flared fenders, and all the other little details that make these cars special also combine to make it one of the most feared predators on the street in the 1970s. There's not much room for brightwork during this era, and so each piece is a great standout, like on the rear bumper, dual exhaust tips, and the trim on the honeycomb-style wheels.
Inside, it feels like a nostalgic time capsule. After all, no one would dare offer metallic blue bucket seats today, which is why we all look for them on these classics. In fact, the whole interior is deep blue sea of the carpeting, side panels, seatbelts, dash, and center console. And the reason why everything feels so fresh and new is because it is! And while this car was being restored, it received great upgrades like modern R134a air conditioning and an AM/FM/CD stereo with Bluetooth. Full instrumentation was standard on Trans Ams, including the large speedo and cool tach/clock combo. The dials look great set in the iconic and aggressive machine-turned instrument panel. Ahead of that the driver gets the three-spoke sports steering wheel that is an icon all on its own, too.
The 400 cubic-inch V8 under the hood fills the engine bay with American muscle, and everyone gets drawn in by the shaker-style cover. You'll love showing this off because with barely over 500 miles on the build everything looks fresh. That means people get a great view of everything from the new Edelbrock intake, to the proper Pontiac light blue engine block. This V8 inhales deeply through a Quadrajet four-barrel carburetor and exhales with authority from the dual exhaust. And while that sounds quite factory-correct, you get even more control over this big V8 and its rumble thanks to an upgrade to a six-speed manual transmission. This Borg-Warner T-56 unit has two more gears than you could get in 1970, and so you're really able to unleash a much fuller powerband than they ever could back then. And because this is a Trans Am that offers more fun on the streets, you have all the right features to back it up, like the thick front sway bar, power steering, and upgrade to four-wheel disc brakes.
The sale comes complete with restoration photos so everyone can follow this classic T/As very modern transformation. This is one of those amazing builds that does all the upgrades you want without jeopardizing the iconic soul. Something this cool won't be with us long, so don't miss out. Call today!!!
