Description

TOP-NOTCH FRAME-OFF RESTORATION W/ PHOTOS & RCEIPTS! 400 V8, AUTO, PHS DOCS, GR8

A real-deal 1967 Pontiac GTO with a correct 400 V8 will already get your attention. But while all GTOs are great for neck-snapping performance, this recently restored classic also has all the right presentation and features to be your favorite all-around classic.

With a complete frame-off restoration completed in 2017 and only about 100 miles driven since then, you already know this GTO is a cut-above. The factory-correct Tyrol Blue benefits from a professional respray, and the consignor states that the full prep included taking the panels down to bare metal. It's this level of investment that makes this one an instant standout. Akin to Chevy's famous Marina blue, this specific color was only offered in '67. So you know it looks great on a big power coupe like this. But this GTO is more than just a muscle machine. The white pinstripe is a sophisticated way to highlight its shapely profile; there has been a serious investment in keeping the bumpers-mirror-like; and there's no better way to say '60s premium than with a black vinyl roof. Even with this upscale presence, this GTO never loses its intimidation factor thanks to the vertical stacked headlights, mesh grille, hood scoop, redline tires, and narrow sporty taillights shared with the best Pontiacs on the road. The total effect of this one is fast with class.

The worlds of premium and powerful combine inside the car, too. The black roof on the outside was a preview of the muscle car friendly black interior. There was a nice effort here to keep it as original as possible – even the AM radio is still cranking out tunes! So there was a conscious effort to restore the right pieces and have period-correct replacements for anything not up to standard. The condition of the interior means you still get the intricate pattern on the bucket seats, a center console, and the correct GTO door trim. Plus, the atmosphere is nicely warmed up with the premium wood appearance trim, but the whole car is cooled down in the summer with factory air conditioning (also a great feature for staying cool while showing off the hardtop profile.) But what you'll enjoy the most is slipping behind the three-spoke factory steering wheel. It gives you a clear view of the four round gauge layout. And if grabbing the Hurst shifter doesn't get your heart racing, then the growl when you twist the key absolutely will.

Under the hood is an engine bay that could steal the show on its own. It's a 400 cubic-inch V8, and it looks quite accurate with the correct shade of Pontiac turquoise on the block. So, it's great to know this is a year-correct motor that the consignor states is original to the car. And if you like the way the engine looks, don't forget to check out the undercarriage photos. There you'll see the full benefits of the recent frame-off restoration with such a crisply painted underside and chassis. And all the suspension components look fresh – right down to the bushings. So you get a big V8 that fires up with a great GTO growl, and a solid feeling on the road. Furthering this great cruiser attitude are features like power steering, power brakes, and a three-speed automatic transmission.

The sale comes with the right paperwork like the restoration photos, build receipts, and Pontiac Historic Services docs. This is a premium and distinctive classic with serious power for the streets. Call today!!!
