ORIGINL 327 V8, AUTO, PWR STEER, PWR BRKES, SS PACKAGE, SLICK PAINT W/ GR8 SHINE
This 1963 Chevrolet Impala SS is that cool cruising coupe with the right investments in paint and interior that really make it stand out in a crowd... and you even get to tell them the V8 is original, too!
This generation Impala is truly for the '60s car lover. It practically defined the full-size coupes of the era by signaling the end of the tailfin with something more impressive. Chevy gave us the six taillight arrangement finished in the Super Sport's machine-turned rear panel. It looked so good that it's also in the arrow-head side trim that runs through the rear fender and makes this coupe look fast even standing still. And you'll love all the correct touches – from the shiny factory bumpers to the stock SS wheel covers. But what really sets this one apart is the paint. This deep maroon is a later application that provides a nice backdrop for all the brightwork, and it has the kind of gloss to highlight the crisp sheetmetal.
The tan interior looks great against the exterior maroon paint, and the driver's panel is matching in maroon, so it's the perfect coordinating combo for open hardtop cruising. There was a solid investment here to get it looking correct with the right upgrades. For example, you'll notice this has the correct button-top pattern on the seats and door panels. But on closer inspection, you can see that this upgraded vinyl also gives better bolstering to the seats and a nicer cover to the dash. As a full-size coupe, this is great for bringing along family and friends, but this one also needs no one else but you to be enjoyable. With the machine turned panels returning on the lower dash and center console, and some nice upgrades like the custom gearshift, this Super Sport feels plenty sporty every time you get into the driver's bucket seat.
Under the hood is Chevy's famous 327 cubic-inch V8. The consignor states this motor is original to the car, and its presentation backs it up. More than just looking quite authentic, this V8 inhales deeply through a Rochester four-barrel carburetor, and it sounds sweet exhaling through the dual exhaust. Out on the road, the power steering, power brakes, a Powerglide automatic, and a new set of tires makes this a true easy cruiser.
