This 1966 Ford Mustang convertible has a terrific factory-correct color combo, an A/C interior, and the original V8 under the hood. So if you're a collector who also enjoys the drive, you already know how desirable this distinct icon is.

This Mustang looks spectacular on the outside in its factory-correct shade of Emberglo – a color that's perfectly bold like red, but much more unique. And because this is a sunshine-friendly convertible, it has been refreshed later in life to have a nice clearcoat shine in the sunlight. And even when the weather is gray, with the flip of a power switch, the white convertible top continues this car's distinction. The long hood and short deck are ideal sports car elements, and the scalloped sides with faux chrome air ducts even feels a bit European. Of course, this was a true American that included just the right amount of chrome on the bumpers, window surrounds, and the iconic grille with a horse that runs in against the crowd. All of the brightwork is looking good on this convertible, right down to factory styled steel wheels. So you already know it's a terrific cruiser even before you slip behind the wheel.

The interior retains part of its original Emberglo and Parchment setup, but we can tell there has been a lot of care and investment to keep it looking this good today. It even includes an upgrade to desirable premium "pony" seat package. Owning a classic Mustang is all about the driving experience, and that's why you still get the vintage steering wheel supported by the full round gauge package that was standard for '66. And the Rally Pac tach and clock mounted on the steering column is a rare treat we all love to see. There has been a true effort to keep the interior feeling period-correct. That's why you have everything from the correct trunk mat to the AM radio that's still cranking out tunes. But while the air conditioning looks like the correct unit that upper-class Mustangs received, it now has provisions for modern R134a.

One look under the hood and you'll be impressed. This is a C-code car, and it looks terrific with the bold blue block, matching air topper, and all those correct decals. More than just look right, you'll be able to wow everyone when you tell them this is the original 289 cubic-inch V8, stated by the consignor! Not only did they make solid investment into making this Mustang look amazing, but it also was given all the right driving investment, too. It includes $2,000 spent on new front steering and suspension components in 2014, as well as a three-speed automatic transmission that's freshly rebuilt.

This is the distinct first-gen Mustang droptop that has been given all the right investments to mix great originality and terrific driver's upgrades. So if you like to take your classics out on the road, and look memorable doing it, call today!
