The 928 has aged gracefully as it has become a classic in its own right. Smooth and purposeful, it still generates a ton of attention out on the road, and despite its modest asking price, folks will still think you won the lottery if you park it in your garage. In fact, its perpetual high-end appearance is why this coupe has been so well pampered and the original paint is in particularly nice condition. Typical Porsche focus on the driver dominates the interior, with comfortable tan leather buckets and a perfect driving position. Averaging less than 1,200 mile a year means very little seat time. So the driver's bucket shows minimal wear for being original and 30+ years-old. In fact, all four seats are buckets to provide the best individual comfort in supple leather. The carpets, door panels, dash, and headliner are all in coordinating earthtones and have a time machine level of freshness that will make you believe it's 1983 all over again. As a true grand touring Porsche, this comes loaded with features like power windows, power seats, cruise control, sunroof, and provisions for air conditioning. Under the hood is the original 4.7-liter V8 that with more displacement for '83 pumped out a very respectable 234 horsepower. The overhead cam motor provides the best of both worlds as it has muscle car-like low-end torque, yet shrieks to redline like an exotic when you prod of the accelerator. The exhaust note is truly a symphony for the ears that you control all with your right foot. The transxale setup makes for a wonderfully balanced feeling on the road, and that's exactly where this car belongs. Sure, it's a survivor with ultra low mileage and so many original components, but you should never deny yourself the pleasure of driving an affordable and powerful Porsche. Especially when it has great driving features such as a fully independent suspension, performance-mined four-speed automatic transmission w/overdrive, power steering, and four-wheel disc brakes.
