SMOOTH RUNNING 292 V8, 3-SPEED AUTO TRANS, POWER STEER/BRAKES, DUAL EXHAUST!!!

The 1955 Mercury Montclair introduced a new level of premium to the Mercury world. So it's great to have an example that has the correct V8 under the hood, plenty of chrome, and a high-class color-coordinated look inside and out.

The new Montclair coupes were on the upper end of the class spectrum, and they were proud to show it. After all, you paid 50 percent more for this than a Ford V8 in '55, and so they made sure you got extra flair for the money. The longer chassis allowed designers to create bodies that were a bit more upscale-looking. You especially see this on the trim line that starts above the grille, wraps around the front and continues down the body - even thorough the door. It really helps to emphasize the longer and wider lines that made the best 1950s cars. The same goes for the big chrome bumpers. The design seems to borrow the best from the custom car scene with long headlight overhangs and fender skirts. Plus, the paint package has white on the roof that also flows to just a little bit above the doors. And speaking of the paint, we love the two-tone Seafoam Green against the white. It was updated later in life to make sure it still has a good gloss in the sunshine. ... Please ask for the full description.

It's the right finish for a cruiser, not a trailer queen... and as you look inside, it reveals more of its cruiser-ready attitude.

The interior is quite vintage, which is nice because the green and white inside is very much in harmony with the exterior two-tone. Bright door trim, textured seat inserts, plush carpeting, and terrific details (like the rear armrest) really set this Mercury apart. And you need to check out how the Mercury logo in the center rear is also the courtesy light. So you have a detailed classic kept in detailed care. The artful factory steering wheel and the arching dash that shows off the very stylish gauge package. It makes you want to hit the road in this hardtop. That's why you've been given upgrades like cup holders and an AM/FM radio. There's even air conditioning. It's a modern R134a system, but you may need to give it a recharge to have it bowing ideally cold again.

Another reason to want a '55 Mercury is under the hood. Ford had just debuted the Thunderbird, and the premium 292 cubic-inch V8 with a four-battel carb on top made its way to the premium Montclair, too. With this kind of significance, it's great to have a period-correct block still under the hood. The hot rod style air grabber, bright block, and Mercury script valve covers also give this a nice look within the dark engine bay. The automatic transmission, power brakes, power steering, and a modern tread behind the classic whitewalls are all there for an easy driving feeling.

The sale comes complete with the owner's manual. When you want premium 1950s motoring, you know you want this well-coordinated whitewall classic. So don't miss this distinct Mercury. Call today!!!
