This 1969 Pontiac Grand Prix Model J really represents how Pontiac brought V8 performance and luxury to the market in equal measures. With its sophisticated red style (inside and out), big V8, and full cruiser feeling, this is a distinct hardtop classic offered for an affordable price.
This car comes from an era of true style, and the design proves it. After all, the way the hood line starts at the doors and tapers to an aggressive tip leading the way really shows how this coupe earns the “Grand” part of this name. There's more premium style in the artful chrome grille that integrates into the front bumpers, padded vinyl roof, full white pinstriping, and a rear bumper that looks like an extension of the sheet metal. Pontiac even had a little fun with the nomenclature by borrowing their upper trim level names from Duesenberg, like on this Model J. The paint takes the original Claret Red hue and updates it with a nice metallic element. You may want to give this a comprehensive detail or invest in a few detail upgrades. But what we really like about this is that it has a carefree cruiser attitude, and while we use the word “style” often to describe this one, it's earned on a car where ... But what we really like about this is that it has a carefree cruiser attitude, and while we use the word "style" often to describe this one, it's earned on a car where they even color-matched the Rally II wheels.
There's more deep burgundy/red waiting for you on the inside. It has a good look with a nice quality on the seat upholstery, headliner, carpeting, and smooth dash. And this has the right classic details, right down to the working dome light and walnut wood-like trim. It has the size to fit plenty of family and friends, but a car like this has always been about a personal luxury cruiser. That's why you have bucket seats up front with a center console in-between, and a curved dash that envelopes the driver. It's an easy reach to features like the upgraded AM/FM/cassette stereo and provisions for air conditioning (it will need servicing to blow cold again.) There are even power windows so that you never have to leave the driver's seat any time you want to show off the full pillar-less hardtop profile.
The engine bay looks correct and maintained. You'll even notice a newer aluminum radiator. Pontiac's legendary 400 cubic-inch V8 is hard to beat, and this one has a Holley four-barrel carburetor on top! The motor fires up eagerly, and its torque-filled nature easily allows this Grand Prix to live up to its effortless cruiser image. Out on the road, you have all the right features for an easy driving classic, including a TH400 three-speed automatic transmission, power steering, power brakes, front discs, and a rear sway bar.
Complete with owner's manual, this is the distinct Pontiac that has the style and features you want in a premium classic cruiser. That's why you know you can't miss this deal. Call today!!!
