4.6L V8, 4SPD AUTO, A/C, PWR STEER/BRAKES, CLEAN IN/OUT, RUNS/DRIVES WELL, NICE!

It's hard not to get excited about a short run of a full-size performance machine that combines a historic name with a modern fuel-injected V8. So dig into all the details on this loaded and well-preserved 2004 Mercury Marauder.

This bright Silver Birch Mercury shows the right signs of a well-respected garage-kept lifestyle. The mileage on the car shows this wasn't a daily driver, and so that's how the condition can be so well-preserved. Because this looks so good, you really get to see how Mercury was able to transform the family-style Grand Marquis into a car worthy of the Marauder name. The blackout grille, smoked headlights, and sleek front bumper with integrated fog lights give this a powerful face. Deleted trim along the side let the large factory alloys really shine. The rear is dominated by dual exhaust tips and a special spoiler. There will always be plenty of comparisons to this sedan's direct rival, the Chevy Impala SS. But one place the GM car absolutely can't touch this is rarity. They only made the Marauder for two years, and only about 11,000 total. In fact, a final-year example like this finished in silver is one of less than 1,000!

In fact, a final-year example like this finished in silver is one of less than 1,000!

The big imposing look is part of the Marauder's appeal, and that also means you have a full-size interior. This gives you a practical modern classic that can carry the whole family. Although, the pristine condition of this back seat looks like they rarely shared it with anyone. Up front, the power bucket seats covered in supple leather remind you that this is still a premium Mercury. Of course, the center console with factory-installed AutoMeter Pro-Comp gauges are a reminder this is a true performance build, too. These were expensive cars, and so they also get all the best features. This includes power windows, power locks, keyless entry/alarm, heated seats, power steering, cruise control, dual airbags, and the factory AM/FM/cassette stereo w/CD player. This is a true modern classic, and so you get some great features you don't find on many others, like automatic climate control and power adjustable pedals.

The reason why the Marauder was able the be such a powerful force is because it came about in the era of Ford's excellent 4.6-liter modular V8. This received the four-valve DOHC version, which basically gave this the same fuel-injected power as the contemporary 300+ hp Ford Mustang Mach 1. The suspension was upgraded utilizing components from Ford's Crown Vic police program, including four-wheel disc brakes. So this one knows how to handle its size. But for those times when you just want to cruise, features like the four-speed automatic transmission w/overdrive makes this a fine road trim machine, too.

This is the instant classic that delivers rarity and power in a modern package. Don't miss this Marauder. Call now!
