When the new Challenger R/T was announced, everybody and their mother lined up to own one. It's easy to find bone-stock examples that have zero miles and have only been wiped with a diaper. But say you're not into some faux investment scheme and just want a scary fast Mopar that isn't a Viper? Enter this 2010 Dodge Challenger R/T with a big honkin' Kenne Bell blower. How does a Corvette-eating daily driver sound to you?
This sucker's not exactly subtle with that two-tone paint job, but then again, you'd have to be deaf not to know something is up when it rumbles past. Torred was the car's original color, but the black accents and top side give it a long, lean, predatory look and we like the way they've duplicated the vintage strobe stripes down the flanks. Although it's been driven 22,323 miles, this car has always been a fair-weather toy so it's extremely clean all around and the paint will still stand up to scrutiny at shows, which is a good thing because this thing is an eyeball magnet. For the most part, the Challenger's good looks speak for themselves, and the two-tone treatment plays up the crisp folds in the sheetmetal, particularly the crease that runs along the sides of the car. ...
The R/T package added a chin spoiler, decklid spoiler, and some somewhat menacing HEMI badges on the fenders, but even with all that advertising most guys won't know what hit them until it's too late.
To be honest, it's worth buying the R/T package just to get the upgraded interior, including the ultra-comfortable bucket seats that grab you like they're covered in Velcro. With horizontal pleats and custom embroidery, they continue the high-impact look of the exterior, just so you know you've got something special. Everything was standard, too, so that means stuff like power windows and locks, a powerful climate control system, and a thumping Kenwood stereo are all here. It's still just as comfortable as it was when it was new and if you can keep your foot off the loud pedal, it's comfortable and easy to drive. White-faced gauges keep an eye on the vitals and you'll be glad to have them, because when you crack the throttle on this one, things start to happen very, very quickly. Don't say we didn't warn you.
The stock R/T is no slouch, packing 372 horsepower. But that's garden-variety these days so the guys at the Injected Engineering stuffed a giant 2.8 liter Kenne Bell Mammoth supercharger under the hood. That $10,000 supercharger is the heart of the upgrade, along with a custom air intake and supporting hardware to handle all the extra horsepower. To manage the extra air coming in, there's a custom-programmed Predator ECU that manages a set of upgraded fuel injectors that can easily keep pace with the supercharger's propensity to make boost. All told, it makes silly horsepower, yet still starts easily, idles well, and is happy to putt around like a stocker. But sooner or later you'll give in to the supercharger's seductive torque and dump the throttle, at which point the transmission will slam down two gears and you'll be hurtling forward at ludicrous speed. It's at that moment that you'll be glad for the upgraded Eibach suspension and massive disc brakes. A Flowmaster Force II exhaust system gives it a unique sound, and it sits on gorgeous 22-inch Lexani wheels with staggered 265/35/22 front and 295/30/22 rear Nexen tires.
So if you're tired of stock Mopars, this R/T is fully sorted with show car looks. Call today!
