350 V8, TH400 AUTO, POWER STEERING, POWER FRONT DISC, UPGRADED SUSPENSION, WOW!

The 1953 Kaiser-Frazer Henry J might have been about offering a reasonable economy car to the masses, but this one adds much more power, rumble, and comfort to this custom build. So if you're looking for a V8 classic with true distinction, read on...

We bet whoever bought Kaiser's economy brand in the 1950s never thought their budget machines could look this cool. The black paint is a quality later application that looks like you upgraded to a Cadillac. So the deep gloss loves to help the sun highlight some of the best curves in the classic sheet metal. There's plenty of great brightwork on this one, too. It's on the distinct grille, rocker-inspired hood ordainment, wraparound chrome bumpers, and cool Henry J scrip badges. The whole presentation looks nice while also being driver-ready. And that's right for this car because the red wheel really makes you take notice of the sporty stance and extra wide rear set. And the quad exhaust tips are a nice sign that there's something quite potent here.

The red wheels are a preview of the full red interior. We like that they tastefully upgraded this one for added comfort while also keeping it looking vintage. Pieces like the low-back ... Please ask for the full description.

Pieces like the low-back seats, clean steel dash, and two-piece windshield are pure retro cool. And you're upgraded in the places that count the most, like the plush carpeting, fresh upholstery, matching door panels, and a finished trunk. And there are useful details, like the front seatbelts and the tinted glass. Plus, there's a nicely done driver-oriented layout with a sports steering wheel on a tilt column, provisions for AutoMeter readouts, and a Lokar floor shifter.

Under the hood will be your favorite upgrade. The original low-displacement motor was changed in favor of Chevy small block power. The 350 cubic-inch V8 looks great with a clean installation and cool Henry J valve covers. Plus, this motor has all the best features for a solid runner, like an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, an Edelbrock intake, and a Griffin aluminum radiator. The dual exhaust has a nice tune with the Magnaflow mufflers, but when you really want to surprise them all, a switch on the dash opens up the cutouts and brings the thunder. The upgraded V8 feeds a stout but smooth TH400 three-speed automatic transmission on its way to a strong 9-inch rear end. Not only can this custom Henry J handle its extra power, but it's also an all-around fine driver. That's thanks to features like the Mustang II-style independent front suspension, power steering, power brakes, and front discs.

This is an interesting build that reminds us the smallest/lightest cars do the best with V8 upgrades. This unique Henry J setup is the kind of machine that gets all the right kinds of attention. Call today!!!
