This 1932 Ford Model A 3 Window Coupe is one badass looking ride all right, but it's got more to offer than just its high impact appearance. This steel-bodied classic features a rock solid, high functioning drivetrain, led by the powerful V8 on display in its open engine compartment, that combines with some well-chosen features to make it well-suited for frequent driving in any conditions you might send its way.
With its magnetic black exterior and open engine compartment displaying one seriously aggressive-looking powerplant, this is one Model A that absolutely demands attention. It's got plenty more to its credit than just visual impact, though, as there are some great visual details and finishing touches that reside on this 1932's steel body, which itself is better equipped to stand up to the rigors of the road than its more commonly found fiberglass counterparts. Suicide doors sit in place of traditional doors, while just further forward, you'll see headers extending out of the engine compartment that have sealed ends but join with side pipes emerging just in front of the rear tires for a distinctive look. Description
With no hood in place, not only is the engine clearly visible, but you can also get a good view of the array of chrome front suspension components on board. Above, a clean vinyl top sits in place, featuring a good seal to keep the elements out. Clear glass surrounds the cabin and an LED taillight has been positioned in the rear window to not only provide another unique touch, but also an added measure of safety while in traffic.
There's one very nicely detailed and comfortable interior inside those suicide doors, featuring a pair of black leather bucket seats that fit perfectly while offering a modern configuration for support and comfort. With an exterior look as aggressive as this vintage Ford displays, you might expect a ride that's only suited for boulevard pursuits, but there are a number of comfort and convenience features included to considerably up its versatility, including power windows, a chrome tilt column, air conditioning and a JVC AM/FM/CD player to power the mounted speakers both in the custom "V8" door panels and under the dash. While interior room in many vintage Fords is at a premium, here it's in abundance, so you'll have no problem getting comfortable. Just beyond the steering wheel, the dash area glows shiny black and sports a set of digital gauges in its instrument cluster.
The 350 cubic inch V8 sitting in full view in the open engine compartment is a definite conversation piece, with its ultra-aggressive look enhanced by the Offenhauser Dual Cross Ram intakes and pair of 4-barrel Edelbrock Street Avenger carbs sitting on top, just in front of a textured aluminum firewall. The addition of a Pete & Jake drop tube front end adds to this classic's very appealing, slightly inclined stance. Combine the 4-speed automatic 700r4 transmission - which features an overdrive gear - with the 3.73 posi rear end and you have a ride that's well-suited for comfortable driving at highway speeds in addition to its off the line prowess. An electric fan sits just behind the radiator to keep running temperatures in check. Power steering provides low effort navigation for this high impact classic as it rolls on a set of black steel wheels with moon caps that are wrapped with Coker American Classic Bias-Look radial tires.
