Audi had a real winner on its hands from the time they first released the TT, which takes its name from the Tourist Trophy bestowed at the annual Isle of Man motorcycle race. The first generation alone, which this '06 closed out, garnered both North American Car of the Year (the automotive version of the Oscars) and made Car and Driver's Ten Best List. It's always been a great, distinctive looking car - low to the ground and refined, but not too showy - and even to this day Audi really hasn't made any drastic styling changes to it, focusing instead on more subtle refinements year over year. By virtue of its special edition status - it's one of only 99 of its kind - this TT really stands out in a crowd, and it still has a showroom look to it, with a silver and black color combo that's in fine form with no oxidation or fading in sight, and headlights that stare back at you through lenses that are clear as day. The black leather interior has also been a beneficiary of this Audi's light usage over the years: you have to take a close look to even find evidence of any hands gripping the leather-wrapped steering wheel. All the comfort features you could want are on board, including air conditioning, heated power seats that really come in handy during the winter, cruise control, power windows and an AM/FM/player. While the TT won't be confused with your typical transport vehicle, it does house a full-fledged bench seat in back whose 50/50 split is very convenient, and there's some usable room in back of that - even with the seating upright. Fold it down and it's surprisingly spacious and in good order as well, with no staining or scuffs to be found.

A 3.2 liter fuel injected V6 sits under the hood in an engine bay that's clean as a whistle. It's the largest displacement powerplant offered on first generation TTs and has great throttle response, with none of the turbocharger lag often found in the smaller engine options. It sounds an appealing note out of its dual exhausts and is paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission that's well geared for performance while still providing convenience in stop and go driving. Sitting low to the ground with a relatively wide stance and all-wheel drive sending power to all four corners, the TT is one seriously nimble handler, and its power disc brakes bring it to a stop in short order as it cruises the asphalt on a set of stock Audi TT rims, wrapped with Continental tires.
