This is the Camaro you don't want to meet at the next red light. Fortified with a thundering 454 cubic inch big block, this 1967 Chevrolet Camaro RS is built for speed. This beast has the right stance and is the poster child for what a big block Camaro should look like.
The bright yellow paint is the same paint that was sprayed on '79 Corvettes, but it sure looks great on the Camaro bodywork. All the right aesthetic ingredients are there, from black SS stripes, to the cowl induction hood, to the RS badges and front fascia, it replicates a muscular look that will have wannabe contenders trembling in place. It also includes a correct Camaro-spec ducktail spoiler on the trunk lid and '454' badges on the hood, so all the pieces are there to show like one of the most potent machines of the period. A pair of chrome bumpers sparkle against the bright yellow paint, and all the stainless is in good shape. The stance looks great on the Weld Racing Drag Lite wheels, and there's no way to keep yourself from grinning when you're behind the wheel. This car is about fun, not paperwork, authenticity, or correctness, and in that regard it definitely delivers.

This car is about fun, not paperwork, authenticity, or correctness, and in that regard it definitely delivers.
The bucket seat interior is in typical Camaro fashion, and those buckets are covered in clean black vinyl. A center console rests in the center of the buckets with Autometer console gauges for the volts, oil pressure, water temperature, and fuel level. A standard gear selector keeps the traditional appeal in the cabin, as well as an RS 3-spoke steering wheel. An AM radio continues that traditional theme, and the black carpets are clean with a tear-free the rear bench. When you have a look around, all of the essentials are there. There isn't a fancy stereo or custom interior, it's not necessary in this classic. Besides, you'll be quite pleased with the soundtrack coming from the ferocious V8 underneath the hood.
That V8 is a '97 454 cubic inch short block that has seen its fair share of upgrades. A Hydraulic lifter Comp Cam handles intake/exhaust valve duration, while the valve springs, roller rockers, pushrods, and guides have been updated with heavy duty units. The cylinder heads went through a solid amount of work and have been ported and polished with oversized valves. Other upgrades include a 750 double-pumper carburetor, Edelbrock intake, high flow fuel pump, long tube headers, and an MSD ignition. A 4-core radiator with electric fan is supplemented with an Edelbrock high volume water pump to keep things cool, while a March serpentine system keeps the ancillaries spinning. Mated to a TH350 automatic transmission that's been built with heavy duty components, a shift kit, a manual valve body, B&M holeshot torque converter, and a remote transmission cooler...the big block is prepped to send its power to the 12 bolt rear with 4.11 gears and posi-traction for quick hole shots out of the gate with BF Goodrich G-Force T/A drag radials sticking to the pavement.
With the quintessential look of what a big block Camaro should be, this one is poised to turn heads with its looks and sound. The 454 rumbles to life with an intimidating growl that is complemented with a sinister stance. With the hardware this car carries, you couldn't come close to building it for our asking price.
