You want muscle car performance, a high-visibility paint job, and an attitude? Look no further than this 1987 Chevy pickup, which packs a rompin', stompin' 454 cubic inch big block under its tall hood and a performance look that serves it extremely well.
Envisioned as a kind of pre-SS 454SS pickup, this truck gets all the big parts of the equation exactly right. Painting it red means it's always the center of attention; adding the cowl induction hood and reproduction 454SS decals on the bed was only done to rub salt in the wound. The paint is pretty good, with a great shine and a vivid, perfect red that makes no bones about its intentions. These are already pretty good looking trucks, so it doesn't take much to make it grab your attention, and it's nice to see that they didn't go for a radically altered look, just a few custom tricks like the rear roll pan that helps it look sporty. A chrome bumper and color-matched grille insert liven up the front end, while the bed is fitted with a heavy-duty rubber mat and a vinyl tonneau cover, making it more than a little practical, too.
OK, so looking at the interior you will see basic and functional styling. But that buys you one heck of a package ... Please ask for the full description.

OK, so looking at the interior you will see basic and functional styling. But that buys you one heck of a package and you can easily upgrade the passenger compartment along the way. Factory buckets are a nice option, and while they're faded and a little beat up, they're still usable as-is. A grant GT steering wheel and a column-mounted tach help with the sporty attitude, although items like power windows and locks, a tilt column, and cruise control suggest that there's a bit of luxury car in this truck's DNA. Factory instruments are in good order, although the 85 MPH speedometer is laughable with all that horsepower under the hood, much of which you can see from the driver's seat thanks to the towering hood scoop. A Sony AM/FM/CD stereo head unit with remote is a welcome upgrade and sounds decent even against the big block, and tinted windows give it a serious look.
With 454 cubic inches under the hood and not a lot of weight to haul around, performance is extremely impressive. A big Holley carburetor feeds the beast, sitting atop a polished aluminum intake manifold. Chrome valve covers are a traditional big block accessory, and the engine is a very neat fit in the engine bay. The combination of big torque and light weight is most apparent when you peg the accelerator, as each of the TH350 3-speed automatic's shifts yank the truck up to speed instead of pulling engine RPM down; THAT's power. Long-tube headers and Flowmasters give it an incredible cackle that's likely to serve as a warning to others on the road, but the rest of the undercarriage appears to be quite stock and in good order. It might have a slightly lowered stance, but not too low, and sits on shiny chrome wheels and fat 275/60/15 Uniroyal white-letter radials that complete the look.
It also includes a nice cache of spare parts, including everything you need to get the A/C up and running again, plus a fitted cover. A lot of performance in a great-looking package, all at a bargain price. Call today!
