Here's a car that's about driving something unique and looking great while doing it. This restored 1947 Buick Super Series 50 convertible is a shining example of a rare sight in the classic community.

The Lehigh Gray paint is an ideal setup. It gives you a very classic look, but it's also part of a solid investment this car has been given later in life. So this sunshine-friendly convertible also has a modern clearcoat finish that looks great in the sunlight. This gloss also seems to be the perfect way to showcase the Buick's unique design. The classically long front sheetmetal has terrific lines - especially the wave-form that starts at the headlight and gracefully runs through the door. Like any good '40s classic there's plenty of intricate chrome, and you can see more of the car's quality in the way it shines. It allows you to really appreciate all the design touches like toothy Buick Eight grille, wraparound bumpers, sweeping profile trim, and so much more that all have a mirror-like shine. And while you were looking at the brightwork, you were probably admiring the two-piece wheel covers and whitewalls. But don't forget to also pay attention to the steel wheels. They ... And while you were looking at the brightwork, you were probably admiring the two-piece wheel covers and whitewalls. But don't forget to also pay attention to the steel wheels. They were painted a deep red to coordinate with the trim on the excellent convertible top. It's just another way to show off a thoughtful presentation of a true classic.

If you like the red accenting on the exterior, then you'll love the red interior. The supple leather upholstery is an update later in life, and so it has a fresh appearance. It's nicely detailed with a classic pattern and comfy tan cloth inserts. There's also newer carpeting and good door panels to really make this classic a nice place to spend some time. This wants to feel like a premium Buick, and so you get features like power windows and a power convertible top. They even integrated some great modern upgrades, like a full Classic Instruments gauge package and upgraded heater. And while the AM radio is still on display in the art deco dash, your real driving music is coming from a JBL Bluetooth receiver connected to a Rockford Fosgate speaker system.

Under the hood, the 248 cubic-inch "Fireball" straight-eight looks amazing. Those long blocks are always a crowd pleaser, and this one shows the same solid level of investment as the interior and exterior. You'll also spot good fundamentals, like newer hoses, belt, and a 12-volt upgrade with alternator and Optima battery in the trunk. It fires up easily, and the well-maintained condition means you really get to experience the smoothness on these in-line motors. The three-on-the-tree manual transmission is easy to operate and gives you that great vintage feeling. The undercarriage photos tell you that the full investments extended to the suspension, and so this Super floats down the road like a true classic Buick should.
