Gullwing doors, sharp-edge profile, and a true place in the history books - this 1975 Bricklin SV-1 is one of those cars that will always be a curiosity for generations to come. So to find one that is quite complete, plenty of originality, and is coming off of long-term ownership is the kind of head-turning classic that you can enjoy for a value price.
Many years before the Delorean, the Bricklin fulfilled our gullwing dreams - although briefly. They made less than 3,000 examples total over less than a three-year run. In fact, the when looking at the year and the color, the rarity of this example is believed to be one in less than 550. And speaking of the color, the “SV” in the SV-1 is for Safety Vehicle, and so it's great to have this one of the hallmark colors such as Safety Orange. The idea is to have a vibrant color so that people will absolutely see you. And once they catch sight of a car like this, you know you will be memorable. The wedge-shaped fiberglass body, the large color-matched energy absorbing front end, turbine-style alloys, flip-up headlights, and the hallmark hydraulic-activated gullwing doors all make this pure retro-cool.
Inside is more of that classic charm. ... Please ask for the full description.

Description
Gullwing doors, sharp-edge profile, and a true place in the history books - this 1975 Bricklin SV-1 is one of those cars that will always be a curiosity for generations to come. So to find one that is quite complete, plenty of originality, and is coming off of long-term ownership is the kind of head-turning classic that you can enjoy for a value price.

And speaking of the color, the "SV" in the SV-1 is for Safety Vehicle, and so it's great to have this one of the hallmark colors such as Safety Orange. The wedge-shaped fiberglass body, the large color-matched energy absorbing front end, turbine-style alloys, flip-up headlights, and the hallmark hydraulic-activated gullwing doors all make this pure retro-cool.
Inside is more of that classic charm. It's a highly original interior, so you'll feel the unique Bricklin ambiance in everything from the thick pile carpeting, to the two high-back bucket seats with plush button-top cloth inserts. Even as a time capsule, you're still able to get quite comfortable thanks to features like the classic AM/FM stereo, tilt steering wheel, full instrumentation, and provisions for air conditioning.
Under the hood is what made these cars ready to take on the Corvette of the day. The 351 cubic-inch Ford V8 is correct for the car, and it's believed to be the original motor. It also means the rare exotic has a reliable, mass-produced heart that's still easy to service today. The low odometer is believed to reflect actual mileage. That's partially because this coupe has spent more than half its life with the same ownership, and much of that was in storage. They properly work up this sleeping Bricklin, including recent investments in new plug wires, brake hoses, fuel pump, fuel lines, fuel filter, and a rebuilt carburetor. So it's a time capsule kind of car that also runs strong. And as a true cool cruising classic, it's easy to drive thanks to the three-speed automatic transmission, power steering, and power brakes w/discs up front.
The sale comes with plenty of paperwork, including title documentation, owner's manual, service manuals, and maintenance records. This is a unique piece of history offered for an affordable price. So if you like plenty of attention, don't let this Bricklin pass you by, call today!
