PERIOD-INSPIRED RESTORATION, GREAT COLOR COMBO, BUILD SHEET, OWNERS MANUAL

Ford fans, never fear, we have great old pickups for you as well. Perhaps they worked harder than their Chevy counterparts, or perhaps fewer were built, but it seems that there are not nearly as many early-70s Fords. Fortunately, we have found this one, which is an extremely clean '72 F100 that's clearly had a lot of care over the last 40 years.

That subtle two-tone green paint job definitely works on the truck's neatly creased sheetmetal, and there were plenty of choices that wouldn't have aged this well. With a single repaint a few years ago, it still looks great, even up close, with only minor signs of use and age. Still showing some of the '60s detailing but a forward look that would stay with Ford for a generation, this '72 is a neat example of the evolution of the pickup truck. Fit and finish are so good that we're inclined to believe that the mileage shown is authentic, and just by how the doors close we know it hasn't been worked hard. Note the bright stainless spear that runs from nose to tail on each side, the molded-in fender flares and rocker panel accents, and the giant clamshell hood that offers unparalleled access to the engine bay. It all just works together, giving this ... Please ask for the full description.

It all just works together, giving this truck an instantly-identifiable look that will still stand out in a crowd. The argent silver grille is in excellent condition, sitting above a brightly chromed bumper, while out back the bed has been protected by a drop-in bedliner.

The matching green interior takes the truck a good step forward and away from its working-class roots, and offers more evidence of originality. The two-tone seat cover adds a slightly upscale look and is in overall very good condition with just one small repair on the driver's side that's barely noticeable. The rest of the cab has been recently detailed with new carpets on the floor and some fresh paint on the dash and overhead. There's no doubt that it still carries a vintage steering wheel, which remains in good shape, and the gauges look pretty darned good, too. And yes, this one offers three-on-the-tree shifting, a fun throwback to an earlier era that we'll never see again. There's also an AM/FM radio in the center of the dash. Overall, the truck retains its original flavor, but the stuff makes it a pleasure to drive.

The engine is a bright Ford Blue 302 cubic inch V8, which we believe to be the truck's original engine, and the ultra-clean engine bay demonstrates that this is no ordinary work truck. A chrome air cleaner and matching valve covers dress things up a bit (the original parts are available), and thanks to a 4-barrel carburetor and a dual exhaust system, this truck moves more like a Mustang with a bed. It starts quickly and easily, and settles into a rumbling idle thanks to Flowmasters underneath, and pulls hard through all three gears up to highly illegal speeds. Underneath, the chassis and floors are sanitary, more evidence that the mileage is authentic. A Ford 9-inch rear with 3.25 gears will handle any load you can throw at it, and handsome late-model chrome wheels give it a sporty demeanor. Four fresh 235/75/15 Uniroyal white-letter radials have been fitted as well, making this a truck that you can use and enjoy immediately.

Just a clean old Ford with a second lease on life. Call today!
