You're looking at the rare opportunity to own the end of an era. This 1972 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu convertible represents the last of the Chevelle droptops. Less than 5,000 were produced in this final year, so it's great to see such a significant and rare car treated properly and given all the right attention – from the custom color to the A/C interior.
Redfire Metallic is the name of the paint that's grabbing all your attention. This is a recent professional application, and so it really knows how to radiate the moment the sunlight finds it. And that's exactly what you want on a sunshine-friendly classic convertible. And it's this upper class distinction that lets you enjoy the exceptionally straight sheetmetal with gentle curves, well-defined creases, and flowing front hood. A car this solid and nice deserves the best brightwork, so the Rally wheel package looks terrific and the chrome bumpers are freshly re-dipped. And speaking of the bumpers, 1972 was also the last year before federal standards took over, so we appreciate how artfully they're integrated into the overall design.

If you like the way the black roof looks against the darker red paint, then with the flip of a switch, you'll love powering it down to reveal the full black interior. These might have been the midsize Chevys back in the day, but there's plenty of room for you to carry all your friends and family with the two rows of bench seats. Plus, everyone can even stay happy on the long trips thanks to the upgraded AM/FM/CD stereo and cold-blowing R134a air conditioning. But a convertible like this is really about the driver. That's why the dash insert was specially painted an exterior-matching red, and the factory dual-spoke steering wheel gives you a commanding view of the old-school speedometer that's as long as the horizon.
Under the hood is a 350 cubic-inch crate V8. It looks nice with crisp components and plenty of polish coming off the air topper, intake, and Chevrolet valve covers. More than just look upgraded, they added the right power with a large Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor and an Edelbrock intake feeding the V8. This means good power going down the road and a great sound out of the dual exhaust. And with power steering, power brakes, and a three-speed automatic transmission, we know you're really going to enjoy open-top motoring to the fullest.
This convertible spent nearly the last three decades under the same local owner. It's the kind of classic that has been cared for exactly how you'd want it to be, and we understand exactly why. This is the last of the droptop Chevelles. So don't let it slip away, call today!
