You can sum up this 1977 Ford F-100 pickup I just a few words: fun, affordable, practical. The green paint is recent, the A/C is cold, and the performance of a V8 with rear wheel drive is as fun here as it is in any muscle car.
The metallic green finish on this handsome pickup is straight out of the Ford color charts in the '70s, so it looks right on the old pickup bodywork. It's obviously a very clean machine that wasn't some contractor's beater, although it's clearly capable of the work. Finish quality is good and you'll never be ashamed to park this Ford in your driveway, although you should expect visits from curious onlookers if you choose to wash and wax it where they can see it. It's modern urethane, so it'll hold up better than the original enamel, and even the bed was refinished, so you might want to look into a bed liner or something protective if you're going to press it into service. Shiny bed rails and tie-downs add an upscale vibe while enhancing practicality, and the rest of the brightwork appears to be original and in good condition.

The green interior is authentic and includes a fresh seat cover in the original style. It's actually fairly luxurious for 1977 and captures the era perfectly with the emerald green trim. The carpets, headliner, and dash pad appear to be the original pieces and might be showing their age a bit, but it's quite presentable as-is and doesn't detract from the driving experience. An aftermarket steering wheel adds a sporty attitude and makes getting in quite a bit easier than the original large-diameter plastic piece, and yes, that's three-on-the-tree shifting for a bit of nostalgia. Ford's square instruments should look familiar to anyone who drove a Blue Oval product back in the '70s, although the modern Pioneer AM/FM/CD stereo head unit is a welcome upgrade. Factory A/C is a rather rare option on a working-class pickup, and thanks to R12 refrigerant inside, it's very effective. It also includes a sliding rear window for those days that aren't quite hot enough for A/C, and you'll discover that it makes for very pleasant driving year-round.
The 351 cubic inch V8 under the big hood is a smart performer in the relatively lightweight F-100. Still relatively stock, it has been conscientiously maintained and still runs with torquey smoothness that makes it a great pickup truck powerplant. The big A/C compressor dominates the engine bay, and that's also the factory air cleaner and emissions equipment in place. Turn the key and it barks to life easily and sounds suitably powerful through the single tailpipe. It's impressively clean underneath with no signs of harsh environments or abuse, the transmission shifts easily, and its' a great runner out on the road. Disc brakes and power steering ensure a modicum of modern performance and big 275/60/15 Cooper tires on '70s-looking mag wheels give it just the right look.
You can still have a lot of fun for not a lot of cash, and trucks are the way to do it. This Ford is ready to work or play, and I suspect it'll be doing a little of both in its next new home. Call today!
