The Chevelle 454 SS is one of the most popular muscle cars of all time for several obvious reasons. The styling is awesome, the engine is awesome, and the experience of driving one is awesome. So, when you finally decide that it's time for you to own one, how do you decide which one to buy? Well, you might consider the color. This one is coated in its factory correct, Astro Blue, and it's absolutely beautiful. Check it out.
While the Blue base coat highlights the smooth lines of the car and the muscular curves of the rear fenders, Black SS stripes running up the cowl induction hood are a hint that this car's beauty is more than skin deep. That idea is further reinforced by the hood pins that try to make sure that the beast within doesn't try and jump out. Up front a black grill is trimmed in chrome with an SS badge in the center which is flanked by quad headlights. A sharp looking chrome bumper underlines everything up front and chrome dresses out the wheel wells too. There are SS 396 badges on the front fenders which might be a little misleading, but we won't tell if you don't tell. A Black vinyl roof compliments the stripes and another shiny chrome bumper out back holds an SS badge ... Please ask for the full description.

A Black vinyl roof compliments the stripes and another shiny chrome bumper out back holds an SS badge off to the right side in its black center panel.
Open the door and you will find a neat and clean Black interior. The door panel sets the tone with a vertically pleated center section with a band of chrome across the bottom and double chrome piping outlining the top with an SS badge toward the front. Front bucket seats are upholstered in textured vinyl with smooth side bolsters and chrome framework supporting them. A leather wrapped steering wheel is mounted on a 4-spoke hub with an SS center button. The stock dashboard has a speedometer in the center with the tach on the left and a clock, fuel, and water temp gauges off to the right. An auxiliary oil pressure gauge is mounted below the dash under the radio for an added measure of safety. The center console holds a horseshoe shifter for the 3-speed automatic transmission and there is also has a nice little lockable storage compartment that doubles as an armrest. A roomy back seat is a nice place for your friends to join you on cruise nights or on a road trip.
Pull the pins to raise the hood and you will find a nicely dressed out 454 cubic inch powerhouse nestled down in a neat and clean engine bay. A free flow air filter gathers up fresh air from that cowl induction hood for a Holley 4-barrel carburetor and Edelbrock manifold. Chrome dresses up the engine compartment on the valve covers as well as the alternator and power steering pump which also have billet mounts and pulleys. An HEI ignition system feeds the spark plugs through blue wires which are matched by blue quick release fasteners for the valve covers, and Aeroquip lines assure a steady flow of fuel to the carburetor with an in-line pressure gauge to keep tabs on the fuel pump. Hooker long tube headers get the spent gasses out to Flowmaster mufflers and give this car an awesome rumble. Sway bars both front and rear help the car handle well and power front disc brakes insure that you can haul this car back down from speed if you let the horses run.
Awesome for all the obvious reasons and beautiful in its Astro Blue paint with Black and Chrome accents. Come on down and check out this sweet ride. It may be just the Chevelle you have been looking for.
