Wow, talk about a survivor, this is a 1948 Willys Wagon. The word "rare" barely touches the surface of this one of a kind toy. This is a rare breed of SUV that will turn heads where ever you could imagine driving it. Not only will some people never see one of these in person, seeing one this nice that you can take to shows or even use as a daily driver, now that's rare. With a new paint job in Hugger Orange, this special little toy is a must see and must drive. Ok so maybe it's not too little.
The days of driving a classic that is over 60 years old and feeling like it's 60 years old are gone once you climb in the driver's seat, turn the ignition, and step on the gas due to this classic sitting atop of a 1990 Ford Ranger frame. Upgraded to a H.O. 5.0L V-8 with a chrome dress up kit, billet air cleaner, polished intake, Eldlebrock carb, and an aluminum radiator, this Willys is ready to take you on your next road trip or down to the local supermarket for the weekly grocery run. Yeah you could say this is one cool "grocery getter"! Imagine yourself pulling up to the local market and as you pull thru the parking lot, you notice everyone's head turning in amazement and jealousy as they catch a glimpse of this rare classic. The engine rumbles thru tube headers and out the dual 2 1/4" stainless steel exhaust with larger 3 1/2" chrome exhaust tips exiting out back below a beautiful diamond plate rear bumper. As you put the Hurst Promatic floor shifter into park, you notice people coming over to you to ask just what it is and to beg you to take a look inside. New lightly tinted windows with gorgeous glass etching in the rear windows really give this a one of a kind touch. Gleaming chrome and billet flush mount rear tail lights keeps the custom touches flowing throughout the exterior of this classic wagon.
Opening the doors and taking a look inside reveals a full custom interior consisting of a three tone fabric and tweed interior. Front seats with speakers built into the headrests for ultimate driving, listening experience. Tweed panels flow all the way around the inside. Custom designed matching carpet extends all the way back to the rear lift gate door. Side mount fold down rear seats to bring the kids along with you where ever you go. Even the new custom matching headliner is something most would not touch in restoring this kind of vehicle. The dash shows beautifully stained wood that surrounds classic styled Dolphin gauges and an updated Sony AM/FM CD player that powers a small speaker box mounted in the rear cargo area. No booming bass, just good sound to keep the tunes humming. Sitting on chrome polished torque thrust styled Eagle Alloys wrapped in new radial tires gives it a muscle look that backs up the rumble of the exhaust. Nicely detailed undercarriage shows no rust and all the workmanship of getting this classic updated to drive like a new SUV, not one that's over 60 years old. Power windows bring in the fresh air when you decide to turn off the cold blowing A/C. Disc brakes adds to the realization of having a 60+ year old vehicle as a daily driver is not just a dream, but a reality. Come test drive this Willis and you'll be wanting to take it home to your driveway!
