Keeping an open mind, this owner considered everything when restoring this 1936 Ford pick-up truck. Sparing no expense allowed a 350cid V-8 motor mated to a re-built & modified TH350 automatic transmission to be lowered into this Viper Red truck. This all steel body with fiberglass back fenders was lowered 2 ½ during the restoration. To compliment and make this baby run, 2 Carter competition - 650 carbs were installed with a 671 polished blower, Vortex heads, MSD ignition, block hugger headers connect to dual Flowmasters, a 100 amp alternator, new valve covers, a new 19 gallon gas tank and much more were included in the power setup. To show this 'fast-look' truck a new custom tweed seat cushions, tilt steering wheel, power windows, new tinted glass, a new sound system including an I-Pod setup, console, a smooth looking instrument panel with all the right gauges and much more were installed. To make this custom shine new American Wheels with knock-offs, new tires, re-finished oak hardwood flooring and stainless steel inserts, chrome bumpers, twin outside chrome-plated rear view mirrors were also installed.
This is not at all how Henry envisioned this truck to look like in 1936. The 1936 Ford retained the same basic body of the year earlier; with a new front-end and re-designed rear fenders. You will notice bright work around the grille, headlamps and the built in dual horns. In addition - the engine was moved 8 ½ forward, the body was widened 5 ½. The front springs were moved forward of the axle and the rear spring, rear of the rear axle, resulting in what Ford called - 'Centered posed ride.' Fenders were rounder, grille, hood and wheels were with more flowing lines resulting in a more fashionable and post depression-era look.
